On March 30, 2026, YES-O was recognized as one of the outstanding clubs for its exemplary performance, dedication, and commitment as an organization in BNHS. This achievement reflects the positive impact the organization has made on both the school and the community through the successful implementation of its projects and activities.

This milestone was made possible through the guidance of its dedicated advisers, Ms. Shaira Mae Omo and Mrs. Marieanne Espinueva, along with the unwavering support of the Science teachers led by their Head Teacher, Mrs. Agnes Bucsit, and the School Principal IV, Ma. Cherry M. Barrairo, PhD.

This success would not have been possible without the dedication, hard work, and commitment of every YES-O officer and member. Your efforts and passion have truly driven the organization to achieve this recognition.

Sta. Rita, Bacnotan, La Union - Matagumpay na isinagawa ng Sangguniang Kabatan ng Sta. Rita at Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) – JHS ang isang makabuluhang Fruit-Bearing Tree at Bamboo Planting Activity ngayong araw, Pebrero 7.

Ang aktibidad ay nilahukan ng mga YES-O members at officers, katuwang ang SK at Barangay officials, na nagbigay ng matibay na suporta upang maisakatuparan ang proyekto. Layunin ng inisyatiba na palakasin ang responsibilidad sa kapaligiran, pangmatagalang kaunlaran, at pakikilahok ng komunidad.

Ang SK Sta. Rita ay lubos na nagpapasalamat sa Department of Agriculture - Bacnotan, sa pamumuno ni Dr. Divina Apigo at sa liderato ni Mayor Divina Fontanilla, sa pagbibigay ng mga punla. Asahan na ang kabataang konseho ay patuloy na magsusulong at magsusuporta sa mga programang pangkalikasan.

The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) – JHS, led by its advisers Ms. Shaira Mae Omo and Mrs. Marieanne Espinueva, successfully initiated a Fruit-Bearing Tree and Bamboo Planting Activity on February 7 at Sta. Rita, Bacnotan, La Union.

This meaningful activity was made possible through the active participation of the YES-O members, officers, and advisers, together with the Science teachers, and the strong support of the Barangay and SK officials of Sta. Rita. The initiative aims to promote environmental responsibility, sustainability, and community involvement.

We sincerely thank Principal IV, Mrs. Cherry Barrairo, and Head Teacher III, Mrs. Agnes Bucsit, for their invaluable support and guidance in the successful implementation of this activity.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Department of Agriculture, headed by Dr. Divina Apigo, under the leadership of Mayor Divina Fontanilla, for approving and providing the fruit-bearing trees that made this initiative possible.

Together, let us continue nurturing the environment and cultivating a greener future.

Trash Belongs in Bins, Not with Our Fins🙌🏻

Officers and members of YES-O JHS, with Ma’am Shaira Mae Omo, and barangay officials joined the Coastal Clean-up Drive initiated by Mr. Jhunel Nevado and Ms. Kimberly Casanillo, YES-O SHS Advisers. Held at Cabarsican, Bacnotan, La Union, this early morning on January 31, 2026.

This initiative preserved our coastal beauty through collective action and everyone's hands-on effort. As a result, the coastline is now clear and clean—proof that when a community cares, change happens.🌟

“𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞; 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲.”

Bacnotan National High School (BNHS) brought together the Junior High School students at the BNHS Covered Court on 10 December 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, to attend the 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀, organized by the Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), Gender and Development (GAD), Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD), Araling Panlipunan Club, and Reproductive Health Education (RHE). To encourage active youth participation by empowering students, the 𝗬𝗘𝗦-𝗢 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 (𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻)
participated in the event to become advocates for 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯’𝘴 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴, 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘺 𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦 within their homes, schools, and communities. It was a perfect fit for Children’s Month and Human Rights Day, showing how members of organizations like YES-O Junior High help create a safer world for everyone.

Theme: “𝗢𝗦𝗔𝗘𝗖-𝗖𝗦𝗔𝗘𝗠 𝗪𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻: 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗮, 𝗜𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗻!”

Anchored on the theme, “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!”, the congress responded to the growing need for in-depth education on legal protections, health, and moral resilience. Resource persons shared their expertise on key topics and shared their clear advises. Atty. Bernadette M. Lacsamana, Guidance Counselor III, BNHS, explained children’s rights on survival, development, protection, and participation under Philippine laws and the UN CRC, while Police Chief Master Sergeant (PCMS) Eva M. Rala, PNP Bacnotan, talked about drug dangers, penalties, and keeping our community drug-free.

Congratulations to the YES-O Club JHS for winning First Place in the Bulletin Board Making Contest held on September 29, 2025 with the theme “Empowering Educators: Strengthening Resilience, Building Sustainability”.

𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐝, 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝!

This September 20, our dedicated YES-O officers from JHS and SHS, alongside with SDRRMC, Science Teachers, and our Principal, participated in the International Coastal Cleanup Drive at Alpas, Bacnotan, La Union. Organized by Coastal Underwater Resource Management Actions (CURMA) in partnership with the Bacnotan LGU

Together, we scoured the shoreline, gathered sacks of waste, and carefully sorted every piece. And through our collective effort, the different school organizations from Bacnotan NHS (YES-O & SDRRMC) successfully removed approximately 70 kg of garbage from our shoreline

Every piece of trash picked up is a step towards a cleaner, healthier ocean.
