3RD QUARTER MULTI-SECTORAL ADVISORY BOARD (MSAB) MEETING

LOOK: Acting Station Commander, Coast Guard Station Northern Negros Occidental (CGS NNOC), Commander Artzell M Anacan PCG, attended in the 3rd Quarter Multi-Sectoral Advisory Board (MSAB) Meeting convened by the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) Regional Office VI at the PPA Fort San Pedro Building, Fort San Pedro, Iloilo City on 30 July 2026.

The activity gathered representatives from various government agencies and maritime stakeholders to discuss updates on maritime policies, regulatory issuances, and operational concerns affecting the shipping industry.

The meeting likewise served as a platform to strengthen inter-agency coordination and reinforce collaborative efforts in the effective implementation and enforcement of maritime laws, rules, and regulations.

The Philippine Coast Guard reaffirms its steadfast commitment to fostering strong partnerships with maritime stakeholders and government institutions in advancing maritime safety, maritime security, marine environmental protection, and the efficient delivery of public service.

Water Safety Training for BREDCO Port Safety Personnel

LOOK: As part of its continuing commitment to promoting maritime safety and operational preparedness, the Coast Guard Station Northern Negros Occidental, through Coast Guard Sub-Station Bacolod and Special Operations Unit – Northern Negros Occidental successfully conducted a Water Safety Training for the BREDCO Port Safety Personnel at Bredco Port, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental on 23 July 2026.

The training provided participants with essential knowledge and practical skills on water safety, lifesaving techniques, and emergency response procedures, enhancing their capability to effectively respond to water-related incidents within the port area.

This initiative underscores the Philippine Coast Guard's dedication to strengthening inter-agency collaboration and fostering a culture of safety, preparedness, and professionalism in support of the protection of lives and property within the maritime domain.

π‹πŽπŽπŠ: The Coast Guard District Southern Visayas (CGDSV), through its NSTP-CWTS Pool of Instructors, and 1308th PCGA Executive Squadron officially commenced the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) National Service Training Program–Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP-CWTS) Orientation for Academic Year 2026–2027 at La Consolacion College Bacolod and VMA Global College and Training Institute, Inc. in Bacolod City on 18 July 2026.

As part of the orientation, the CGDSV Operations Control Units showcased various rescue equipment, Aids to Navigation (ATON) equipment, and Marine Pollution (MARPOL) response equipment to the participating freshmen students. The demonstration provided the students with firsthand insights into the PCG’s operational capabilities and readiness to respond to maritime emergencies, including search and rescue operations and oil spill incidents.

The participating institutions also introduced the PCG NSTP-CWTS Pool of Instructors, who subsequently met with their respective student advisories. The orientation likewise covered the program’s grading system, course requirements, and the various topics and activities to be undertaken throughout the academic year.

A representative from the Philippine Army was also present during the activity and delivered a brief discussion on the history of the West Philippine Sea and the Philippines’ sovereign rights, further enhancing the students’ awareness of national security and maritime concerns.

Through the PCG NSTP-CWTS Program, the CGDSV seeks to develop young men and women who are not only academically equipped but also imbued with civic consciousness, discipline, leadership, and the skills necessary to contribute meaningfully to the nation.

Contingency Plan for Identified Crisis Scenarios (ConPICS) Lecture in Bago City

ICYMI: In line with the Philippine Coast Guard's commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness and enhancing community resilience, Coast Guard Station Northern Negros Occidental (CGS NNOC) joins to a Contingency Plan for Identified Crisis Scenarios (ConPICS) Lecture at the Community Center, Barangay Poblacion, Bago City, Negros Occidental last, 16 July 2026.

The activity was led by AUX RADM Alvin G. Aguillon, PCGA, 1308th Executive Squadron, CDR Artzell M. Anacan, PCG, Acting Station Commander, CGS NNOC, and LTJG Zindy Godspeed P. Firmalo, PCG, with the participation of personnel from CGSS Pulupandan and MEPT Pulupandan. Also in attendance were Hon. Marina Javellana-Yao, City Mayor of Bago, officials from the Local Government Unit, department heads, and representatives from the city's 24 barangays.

Conducted in coordination with the City Legal Office and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the lecture provided participants with comprehensive discussions on hazard identification, disaster preparedness, emergency response, crisis management, and contingency planning. The activity aimed to enhance the capacity of local stakeholders to effectively prepare for and respond to various emergency and crisis situations.

Through this initiative, the Coast Guard Station Northern Negros Occidental reaffirmed its commitment to fostering stronger interagency collaboration and empowering local communities with the knowledge and preparedness necessary to effectively manage disasters and other emergency situations.

The Philippine Coast Guard remains steadfast in its mandate to protect lives and property by promoting disaster resilience, strengthening partnerships, and advancing a culture of preparedness among communities.

In support of this environmental initiative, Coast Guard Station Northern Negros Occidental personnel were deployed to participated to the said event and also provide safety and security assistance, ensuring the orderly of activity attended by volunteers, partner agencies, educational institutions, and community stakeholders.

This participation underscores the Philippine Coast Guard's continuing commitment to environmental stewardship, public safety, and inter-agency collaboration in advancing sustainable coastal resource management and fostering community resilience.
