In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the rover scouts of Circle 555 in cooperation with the Alpha Phi Omega Ostlandet Norway Alumni Association, Alpha Phi Omega—Lambda Pi Chapter University of St. La Salle, and Anonymous Hand Project have taken the initiative to help children at Mansilingan Day Care Center develop their reading skills. The scouts brought with them a variety of books and engaging activities designed to make reading fun and accessible for the young learners.
The project was spearheaded by RS Jenica Marie Jardeleza, who saw an opportunity to make a positive impact on the community. During their visits, the scouts read aloud to the children, helped them with word recognition, and organized interactive storytelling sessions. The scouts also brought toys for the students to foster their social skills and make learning more fun for them.
This initiative not only fosters a love for reading among young children but also teaches the scouts valuable lessons in leadership, empathy, and community service. It's a win-win situation that highlights the power of coming together to make a difference.
