The NLRC Negros Island Regional Arbitration Branch–Bacolod successfully facilitated a walk-in settlement between a transportation company and two (2) of its employees who had loyally served the company for many years. The settlement, representing the full payment of their salaries and all other benefits due to them, in the total amount of Five Million Five Hundred Forty-Nine Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty-Three Pesos and 23/100 (₱5,549,723.23). As labor issues continue to arise, the NLRC’s effective handling of this case sets a positive precedent for the resolution of future disputes. It reinforces the principle that workers’ rights must always be respected and upheld. The successful settlement also highlights the importance of conciliation and mediation in promoting industrial peace, ensuring compliance with labor standards, and fostering fair and equitable outcomes for both employers and employees.
