Release of the Provincial Product Accounts 2023-2024

Negros Occidental continues to advance its development initiatives through evidence-based planning and strengthened coordination at the community level. This direction was reaffirmed during the Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) Dissemination Forum held on October 7, 2025, at Citadines Bacolod City.

The activity was graced by NIR DEPDev and Concurrent Regional Director Arecio A. Casing, Jr., who highlighted the importance of regional economic accounts in guiding responsive local policies and informed decision-making. Presentations were delivered by Diesah S. Biaoco, OIC-Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA Negros Occidental, and Ma. Goretti M. Novilla, OIC-Chief Statistical Specialist of PSA IRSSO NIR Statistical Operations and Coordination Division, who shared the latest economic performance results of Negros Occidental and Bacolod City.

Representing the Provincial Government, OIC-PPDO Anna Marie G. Lucasan, through Statistician I Johanna Ledesma, emphasized the province’s continued adherence to the Abanse Negrense Development Agenda. She noted that current efforts focus on sustaining growth through practical, data-informed interventions across key sectors such as infrastructure, local enterprise, and social services, while addressing challenges through disaster resilient solutions and adaptive community-based strategies.

Dr. Mary Jean L. Ramos, CPDC of Bacolod City, likewise provided updates on the city’s development initiatives, aligning with the broader direction of sustainable and inclusive growth for the province.

An open forum facilitated by Statistical Analyst Aira Camille E. de la Banda followed the discussions, with Ramon M. Locsin delivering the closing message, reaffirming the shared goal of advancing evidence-based local governance.

The Philippine Statistics Authority - Negros Occidental is set to release the results of the Provincial Product Accounts (PPA) on the 2024 economic performance of Negros Occidental and City of Bacolod through the conduct of a provincial data dissemination forum on 7 October 2025.
