THE SEVERE TROPICAL STORM WITH INTERNATIONAL NAME "MAN-YI" CONTINUES TO INTENSIFY NEAR THE NORTHERN MARIANAS AREA.

The center of Severe Tropical Storm "MAN-YI" was estimated based on all available data at 1,645 km East of Visayas (OUTSIDE PAR)(11.1°N,140.8°E)

Severe Tropical Storm "MAN-YI" has no direct effect on any part of the country at the moment. However, it may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) this weekend and will be named "TOMAS". This tropical cyclone is expected to further intensify into a Typhoon in the next 24 hours.
The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to monitor for the next update on this weather disturbance to be incorporated in the Public Weather Forecast at 4 PM today and 4 AM tomorrow. The next tropical cyclone advisory will be issued at 11 AM tomorrow.
