NCIP Educational Assistance Program (EAP) Screening and Interview for SY 2026–2027

Under the leadership of Atty. Princess May A. Oral, Regional Director of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Regions VI & VII, the Negros Occidental Community Service Center successfully conducted the Educational Assistance Program (EAP) Screening and Interview on June 21, 2026, at the Indigenous Peoples (IP) Governance Center, Kabankalan City.

The activity was spearheaded by the Regional Screening and Selection Committee, composed of Ms. Vima Latoza, CAO II/Regional EAP Focal/Committee Member; Ms. Sheenah Querobin, representing Hon. Alex Centena, Ethnographic Commissioner of the Island Groups and the Rest of Visayas and Chairperson of the Regional Screening and Selection Committee; Mr. Allan U. Geagoni, CDO III and Committee Member; and Ms. Jinky Dequitar, Midwife II/NOCSC EAP Focal/Committee Member.

Out of 66 qualified applicants, 51 applicants successfully completed the screening and interview, while 15 applicants were recorded as absent. Following the evaluation process, 11 qualified applicants will be selected as beneficiaries of the NCIP Educational Assistance Program (EAP) for School Year 2026–2027, subject to the established screening criteria and the available program slots.

The NCIP remains steadfast in its commitment to providing equitable access to educational opportunities for deserving members of the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs). Through transparent and merit-based screening, the Commission continues to invest in the education and future of Indigenous youth, empowering them to become future leaders and catalysts for community development.

The Negros Occidental Community Service Center extends its sincere appreciation to the members of the Regional Screening and Selection Committee, NCIP personnel, partner agencies, and all applicants for their participation and cooperation, which contributed to the successful conduct of the activity.

📢 ANNOUNCEMENT | EAP SCREENING AND INTERVIEW SCHEDULE

The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) – Negros Occidental Community Service Center is pleased to inform all qualified applicants for the Educational Assistance Program (EAP) that the Screening and Interview will be conducted on:

📅 June 21, 2026 (Sunday)
🕖 Time: 7:00 AM onwards
📍 Venue: Indigenous Peoples Governance Center, Kabankalan City

All qualified applicants are advised to arrive at the venue on time and bring the following:

✅ Photocopy of Certificates of Awards and Recognitions received during the previous school year
✅ Lunch and personal necessities

The screening and interview aim to assess and validate the eligibility of applicants in accordance with the guidelines of the Educational Assistance Program.

For Public Information 📢📢📢

This is to inform the public that the Bukidnon ICC/IP of Brgy. Codcod, San Carlos City, and Brgy. Minoyan, Murcia, both in Negros Occidental, filed a petition for the delineation of their Ancestral Domain (AD) with this Office on July 2, 2001. The NCIP–Negros Occidental Community Service Center (NCIP-NOCSC) commenced the delineation process in 2013 and completed the survey in November 2015.

In this regard, the approved Technical Description (TD), as published in the Negros Daily Bulletin on April 27–28, 2026, is hereby posted for the information and awareness of the public.

We are pleased to inform everyone that Mr. Allan U. Geagoni, MPA, is the newly installed Community Development Officer III of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples – Negros Occidental Community Service Center (NCIP-NOCSC).

Effective December 1, 2025, all leadership functions and official communications shall be directed to him as the new head of the office. We look forward to your continued support and cooperation as we further strengthen our services and commitment to the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples and the wider community.
