🌟 VILLAMONTE: A COMMUNITY THAT PUTS CHILDREN FIRST 🌟

October 6, 2026 — Barangay Villamonte, led by our beloved “Ama sang Villamonte,” Kapitan Rommel P. Flores, together with the Barangay Villamonte Council and dedicated staff, proudly welcomed the National Validators of the Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities (PAFCFMC) – Highly Urbanized City Category.

The validation visit marks an important milestone in our journey as a nominee for Model Child-Friendly Barangay at the national level, through the nomination of the Bacolod City Government, a recognized Child-Friendly City in the Philippines.

The validators visited and assessed our various child-centered facilities and programs, including our Day Care Schools, Luis Hervias National High School, CLMES Community Library, 24/7 Command Center, Collab Community Learning Center, Community Playground, Health Center, and Community Hapag Vegetable Garden—all designed to promote the safety, development, learning, health, and well-being of our children.

The evaluation also focused on strengthening the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) and identifying areas where we can further improve our programs and services. We sincerely appreciate the validators for their valuable observations and recommendations, which will guide us toward becoming an even stronger and more responsive child-friendly community.

Kap Rommel Flores extends his heartfelt gratitude to Mayor Greg Gasataya and the Bacolod City Government for giving Barangay Villamonte this opportunity to be part of this prestigious national recognition.

This achievement is not about an award alone. It is about building a community where every child is protected, heard, valued, healthy, educated, and given the opportunity to thrive.

As part of our continuing commitment to the welfare, health, and safety of every Villamonteño, the Barangay Villamonte Government promptly responded to a filed community concern through a coordinated site visitation and assessment.

We sincerely appreciate the assistance and cooperation of the City Sanitation Inspectors, who worked with our designated Barangay Sanitation Officer, Barangay Administrator, and Tanod-on-Duty during the site inspection.

Through strong coordination between the Barangay and the City Government, we ensure that concerns raised by our residents are heard, properly assessed, and acted upon.

This is the kind of governance we continue to uphold in Villamonte — present, responsive, and committed to finding solutions.
