Demonstrating its commitment to road safety and accountability, the Land Transportation Office–Negros Island Region (LTO-NIR) has formally served a Show Cause Order (SCO) to the management of Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI) at its North Terminal in Bacolod City.

The SCO stems from a vehicular incident that occurred in Silay City, Negros Occidental on June 1, 2026, involving one of the company's buses which allegedly sideswiped a Toyota Vios.

The impact reportedly caused the Vios to hit an e-bike, resulting in the tragic death of a three-year-old passenger.

At around 9:25 a.m. on June 10, 2026, personnel from the Intelligence and Investigation Unit (IIU) personally served the order to the management of Vallacar Transit Inc. The Show Cause Order was duly received, and the company's Vice President for Administration was formally informed of the matter.

LTO-Negros Island Region, under the supervision of OIC Regional Director Jeck D. Conlu and Assistant Regional Director Monico A. Puentevella Jr., assures the public that due process will be observed as the agency continues its investigation to determine possible administrative liabilities and ensure accountability in accordance with existing transportation laws and regulations.

LTO-NIR remains steadfast in promoting road safety and protecting the welfare of all road users.

In celebration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day, the Land Transportation Office – Bacolod District Office proudly joined the DOLE Araw ng Kalayaan Trabaho Agad Job Fair and Caravan 2026, bringing government services closer to the public and supporting employment opportunities for job seekers.

Through this activity, LTO BCDO will provide assistance and information on various LTO services, helping applicants and participants comply with transportation-related requirements while promoting road safety and responsible motoring.

Emergency Power Interruption

Due to the Red Alert status declared by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), temporary "rotational brownouts" or Manual Load Dropping (MLD) are currently being implemented to help prevent a larger power outage in the grid.

Affected Areas: MURCIA FEEDER 1 (MUF1) - Riverside Village, Portion Jayme Subd., Himaya, Matahum, Kahirup A, Kahirup B, Portion Paghidaet, Kasilingan, Hermilinda Homes Subd., Leon Ville, BAC-UP 7, Oasis Subd. Goldenville Subd., Green Acres Subd., Lo**ta Heights, Villa Magdalena Subd., Bangga Guanzon, Ciudad de Feliza, Bangga Simon, Paglaum Village, LTO R6 Mansilingan, YWAM Bacolod, Aid Foundation INC., Tanduay Distillers Inc.

Because of the extreme heat, electricity use has sharply increased as more people rely on air conditioners, electric fans, and other cooling devices. At the same time, the Visayas grid is experiencing limited supply due to forced outages in several generating power plants (See NGCP Red Alert Advisory:https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1EBJG4PWMi/).

To maintain stability of the grid and prevent power system from shutting down, some areas are temporarily affected by rotational brownouts while the power supply is being balanced and managed safely.
