The Municipality of Pateros successfully convened the 2nd Quarter Meeting of the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) on June 3, 2026 at the DRRM Conference Room, bringing together local officials, law enforcement agencies, barangay leaders, and partner stakeholders to discuss the current peace and order situation and strengthen collaborative efforts toward a safer and more secure community.
Presided over by Mayor Gerald German, the meeting was attended by Vice Mayor Carlo Santos, Councilor Atoy Cortez, the Punong Barangays of the Municipality of Pateros, Chief of Police PCOL Gerson Bisayas, Fire Marshal FCINSP. Hanz Tito Benito, Jail Warden JCINSP. Joel Cruz, representatives from the AFP NCR Command and the MMDA, as well as municipal department heads and other key stakeholders committed to advancing peace, order, and public safety initiatives in the municipality.
Under the facilitation of Head Secretariat MLGOO Charlotte Bello Glumal Publiฤo of DILG Pateros, the Council reviewed updates on previous agreements, discussed key initiatives under the DILG's Safer Cities Program, received accomplishment reports from the PNP, BFP, BJMP, PADAD, and selected barangays, and tackled important concerns involving public safety, youth protection, fire prevention, emergency response, and anti-scam awareness.
The MPOC also approved and endorsed measures aimed at strengthening Katarungang Pambarangay implementation, improving monitoring mechanisms for children-at-risk, enhancing public awareness on local ordinances, and supporting community-based fire safety programs.
More than a venue for reporting accomplishments, the MPOC meeting served as a platform for collaboration, problem-solving, and collective decision-making. By bringing together key stakeholders, the Council ensures that peace and order initiatives remain responsive to the needs and realities of the community.
