๐ˆ๐ ๐๐‡๐Ž๐“๐Ž๐’ | The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), through the Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC), conducted its annual information drive and aptitude battery test for fourth-class midshipmen of the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) as part of the PCG-PMMA Cadetship and Scholarship Program, Aug.18.

The activity introduced interested midshipmen to the cadetship and scholarship program and assessed potential applicants through the aptitude battery test as part of the programโ€™s selection process.
The PCG-PMMA Cadetship and Scholarship Program is also part of Coast Guardโ€™s long-term human resource development efforts by identifying and developing prospective officers with the technical competence, leadership qualities and discipline required for maritime service.

Through the partnership, the PCG taps into PMMAโ€™s maritime education and training to help develop a pool of future officers prepared to contribute to the protection of the countryโ€™s maritime domain.

The Philippine Coast Guard Academy family mourns the passing of Mr. Ramon T. Aluad (NUP), a valued member of our organization, and extend our deepest sympathies to his family, loved ones, colleagues, and friends during this time of profound loss.

For the years he dedicated to the service, he will always be remembered as part of the PCG Academy and Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC) family. His commitment and quiet dedication to his duties played an important role in ensuring the daily needs and welfare of the personnel were attended to, helping foster a sense of care and camaraderie within the organization. Though his service may have been rendered behind the scenes, his contributions left a meaningful mark on the people and institution he served.

As we bid farewell to a colleague and friend, may his years of faithful service stand as a lasting testament to his dedication and commitment. The Philippine Coast Guard Academy and CGETDC will forever be grateful for the time, effort, and service he selflessly gave to the organization. The Philippine Coast Guard Academy (PCG Academy) actively participated in the clean-up drive conducted at Bagac Elementary School, Bagac, Bataan, in support of efforts to promote cleanliness, orderliness and community involvement on August 16, 2026.

The activity was carried out through the guidance and leadership of the Commander, Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command, VICE ADMIRAL TITO ALVIN G ANDAL PCG, and the Acting Superintendent, Philippine Coast Guard Academy, COMMODORE IVAN E ROLDAN PCG.

The participation of the PCG Academy highlights the organizationโ€™s steadfast commitment to service beyond the classroom and the training environment, fostering the values of discipline, teamwork and volunteerism among its personnel and trainees.

Through its participation in the clean-up drive at Bagac Elementary School, the PCG Academy demonstrated its commitment to supporting the school and its community through simple yet meaningful acts of service. The activity focused on helping maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the school premises, contributing to a more pleasant and conducive environment for the students, teachers, and school personnel.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Academy, in collaboration with the Coast Guard Fleet, successfully conducted the intensive Shipboard Training of Coast Guard Officersโ€™ Course (CGOC) Class 31-2025 Bravo โ€œSIMLAYAGโ€ aboard PCG vessels at Pier 13, Port Area, Manila, from July 20 to August 14, 2026.

Conducted in four batches representing the four battalions, with each batch completing a week-long shipboard experience on various Coast Guard Vessel, the training provided valuable hands-on exposure to actual maritime operations and shipboard
routines.

The trainees engaged in various activities, including firefighting drills, shipโ€™s tour and
familiarization, chart plotting and navigation exercises, mock command exercises,
ship-underway operations, maneuvering of the outboard motor boat, rope work practice, and other essential shipboard activities.

More than a training requirement, the experience was an opportunity to develop
seamanship, discipline, teamwork, leadership, situational awareness, and operational readiness, preparing future Coast Guard officers for the realities and responsibilities
of service at sea.

Through the guidance of Commander, Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC), Vice Admiral Tito Alvin G Andal PCG, and under the leadership of Commodore Ivan E Roldan PCG, Acting Superintendent, Philippine Coast Guard Academy, the Philippine Coast Guard Academy supports the call for volunteer blood donors in support of the Mobile Blood Donation Drive conducted on 26 July 2026 (Sunday) by Barangay Ibis, in coordination with the Bagac Rural Health Unit and in partnership with the Bataan General Hospital.

This humanitarian initiative is conducted pursuant to Republic Act No. 7719, otherwise known as the National Blood Services Act of 1994, which promotes voluntary blood donation and strengthens community participation in the National Blood Services Program.

The activity aims to encourage individuals to become voluntary blood donors, help maintain an adequate and safe blood supply, and provide life-saving support to patients within the Municipality of Bagac who are in need of blood transfusions.

The fun run carried the theme "Leading the Legacy: Strength in Every Stride, Honor in Every Mile." The event brought together members of the uniformed services, Officer Candidate School alumni, civilian partners, and their families in a shared commitment to health, unity, and service. Held on 26 July 2026 at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City

Through the guidance of Commander, Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC), Vice Admiral Tito Alvin G Andal PCG, and under the leadership of Commodore Ivan E Roldan PCG, Acting Superintendent, Philippine Coast Guard Academy, personnel ang trainees of the Philippine Coast Guard Academy participated in the "One OCS Run for WPS 2026", organized by the Philippine Navy Officer Candidate School (OCS) in celebration of the Philippine Navy Officer Candidate School Alumni Homecoming 2026.

The activity aimed to foster camaraderie, promote wellness and physical fitness, strengthen the enduring legacy of the Officer Candidate School, reinforce meaningful partnerships within the community, and support the outreach programs, community projects, and designated beneficiaries of the Philippine Navy Officer Candidate School Alumni Homecoming 2026.

The Philippine Coast Guard Academy remains steadfast in supporting initiatives that promote physical readiness, esprit de corps, and collaborative partnerships among uniformed services while advancing programs that positively impact communities through volunteerism and public service.
