𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: The 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐢𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐂𝐆 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲 (𝐌𝐄𝐃𝐅𝐀𝐒 𝐏𝐂𝐆 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲), under the leadership of 𝐂𝐃𝐑 𝐉𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐌 𝐑 𝐏𝐀𝐃𝐀𝐌𝐀 𝐌𝐂 𝐏𝐂𝐆 (𝐀𝐒𝐂), in partnership with 𝐁𝐨𝐞𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐦, successfully conducted a one-day 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲, 25 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 2026, at 𝐏𝐂𝐆 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐲, 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐜, 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐚𝐧.

The morning session focused on preventive and diagnostic health screening, catering to a total of one hundred seven (107) PCG Academy personnel and trainees. Services rendered included vital signs monitoring, blood glucose screening, Urine Albumin-to-Creatinine Ratio (UACR) testing for early renal damage detection, and individual medical consultations to establish baseline health profiles.

The afternoon session featured an educational health lecture on Diabetes, Hypertension, and Chronic Kidney Disease, delivered by Guest Speaker Dr. Lorelei Lucio-Tong. The discussion emphasized the critical role of prevention, early detection, and proper clinical management in safeguarding force health and maintaining operational readiness.

The activity was made possible through the support of Boehringer Ingelheim, led by Dr. Greta Cortez, Head of Medicine of Boehringer Ingelheim, together with Dr. Giovanni Nazario, Ms. Christine Gonzales, Ms. Dani Inubio, and Ms. Dane Ciruelos. Additional operational assistance was provided by the Nursing Service Sub-Unit RTC Bataan, guided by LTJG HERBERT SANICO NC PCG, ensuring the efficient implementation of medical services. Furthermore, the success of this activity was greatly enhanced by the valuable contributions of the PCG Academy.

This initiative underscored the continued commitment of the CGMED, through the MEDFAS PCG Academy, to promote preventive healthcare, early detection, and health awareness among its personnel and trainees.

The Philippine Coast Guard Academy (PCG Academy) extends its sincere gratitude to the Armed Forces and Police Mutual Benefit Association, Inc. (AFPMBAI) for its generous donation of essential equipment and items on 22 September 2026, at Headquarters Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command, intended to support and enhance the day-to-day operations of the Academy.


The donated equipment and items were formally received by the Commander, Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC), Vice Admiral Tito Alvin G Andal PCG, and the Acting Superintendent, Philippine Coast Guard Academy, Commodore Ivan E Roldan PCG. The meaningful contribution of AFPMBAI reflects its continued commitment to supporting the men and women in uniform and strengthening institutions dedicated to public service.

The donated items will be utilized in the offices of the PCG Academy, contributing to a more efficient and conducive working environment in support of the Academy’s mission of developing future Coast Guard leaders. The Philippine Coast Guard Academy, through the Coast Guard Officers’ Course Class 31-2025 “BRAVO”, conducted the Philippine Coast Guard Academy Pickleball Tournament for a Cause on September 19 and 21, 2026 at the Bagumbayan Covered Court, Bagac, Bataan.

The activity was headed by Ensign Szackt Chester C Laude PCG and brought together pickleball enthusiasts, members of the PCG community, and supporters who came together not only for sports and camaraderie, but also for a meaningful cause. The tournament was conducted under the guidance of the Commander, Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command, Vice Admiral Tito Alvin G Andal PCG, and through the leadership of the Acting Superintendent, Philippine Coast Guard Academy, Commodore Ivan E Roldan PCG.

The activity formed part of the class initiative to extend support to Little Miracles Bataan, with all proceeds collected from the registration fees were donated to help provide for the needs of children living with rare disabilities and congenital conditions. The initiative was further strengthened through the generous support of various sponsors, including local cafés, restaurants, gyms, pasalubong store, supermalls, and fast-food establishment, whose contributions helped make the activity more meaningful and beneficial to the intended recipients. Their support, together with the participation and generosity of the tournament players, demonstrated the spirit of community involvement and shared responsibility in helping those in need.

The activity was also supported by Hon. Ron Michael Alexis R Del Rosario, Mayor of Bagac, Bataan, who graced the event and shared an inspiring message with the participants of the PCG Academy Pickleball Tournament for a Cause. His presence and support added significance to the activity and highlighted the importance of

working together to extend assistance to communities and families facing unique challenges.

More than a sporting event, the Pickleball Tournament for a Cause demonstrated how sports can bring people together for a greater purpose. Through the collective efforts of the organizers, participants, sponsors, and supporters, the PCG Academy was able to turn a shared passion for pickleball into an opportunity to give, serve, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

The initiative reflects the Philippine Coast Guard Academy’s continuing commitment to service beyond its institutional duties, showing that every contribution, helping hand, and act of kindness can bring hope to communities and create a positive impact in the lives of others.

The Philippine Coast Guard Academy Pickleball Team of Coast Guard Officers’ Course (CGOC) Class 31-2025 “BRAVO,” headed by Ensign Szackt Chester C Laude PCG, conducted a Community Outreach Program for Little Miracles Bataan at the Orani Multi-Purpose Gym, Orani, Bataan. The activity extended support and care to children living with rare disabilities, congenital conditions, and other complex health challenges.

The outreach activity, themed “United for a Cause,” brought together members of the PCG Academy and the Little Miracles Bataan in a meaningful activity dedicated to children who courageously face their unique medical challenges and continue to inspire others through their strength and perseverance. As part of the activity, the PCG Academy provided essential items based on the needs of the children and their respective conditions. The gathering also featured fun and engaging games for the children and participants, along with special presentations from the Little Miracles Bataan community that added joy and warmth to the occasion.

The activity was conducted through the guidance of the Commander, Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command, Vice Admiral Tito Alvin G Andal PCG, and through the leadership of the Acting Superintendent, Philippine Coast Guard Academy, Commodore Ivan E Roldan PCG. Also present during the activity were Commander John Alfwell B Saarenas PCG, Chief of Academy Staff, PCG Academy; Commander Roberto M Beltran PCG, Course Director, Coast Guard Officers’ Course Class 31-2025 “BRAVO”, who joined the participants in showing their support for this meaningful cause.

The activity concluded with a message from Mr. Nasir Ocampo, Governance and Institutional Development Consultant of the Office of the Mayor of Orani, Bataan, who expressed his gratitude for the support extended by the Philippine Coast Guard Academy to the Little Miracles Bataan community. His message underscored the importance of continued cooperation and support in bringing hope and assistance to children and families facing unique challenges.

More than an outreach activity, the gathering served as a reminder that service is not only about duty, but also about compassion, kindness, and care for others. For the children of Little Miracles Bataan, every smile, every helping hand, and every moment of companionship can become a little miracle of its own. Through this meaningful activity, the Philippine Coast Guard Academy continues to fulfill its commitment to serve the nation by reaching out to communities, extending support to those in need, and making a difference in the lives of others.

The Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC), through the Philippine Coast Guard Academy (PCG Academy), formally convened the Coast Guard Officers’ Course (CGOC) Class 34-2026 “Alpha” on September 17, 2026 at the HCGEDTC Marilag Lecture Hall, Muelle Dela Industria, Farola Compound, Binondo, Manila, marking the beginning of another significant chapter in the professional development and leadership formation of Coast Guard officers.

The activity was conducted under the leadership of Vice Admiral Tito Alvin G Andal PCG, Commander, CGETDC, and Commodore Ivan E Roldan PCG, Acting Superintendent, PCG Academy, with the presence of Undersecretary Mary Anne Z. Dela Vega, Undersecretary of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

CGOC Class 34-2026 “Alpha” is composed of 23 Student Officers, comprising three (3) from the United States Coast Guard (USCG), four (4) from the Taiwan’s Central Police University (CPU), 11 from the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA), and five (5) from the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP). The diverse composition of the class highlights the importance of collaboration and professional exchange among maritime and partner institutions in strengthening leadership and capabilities in the maritime service.

The activity underscores the continuing commitment of the Philippine Coast Guard to developing competent, disciplined, and service-oriented officers through quality education, training, and leadership formation.

The convening of CGOC Class 34-2026 “Alpha” signifies the beginning of a demanding journey of learning, leadership, professional growth, and service, preparing its members to carry greater responsibilities in the fulfillment of the Philippine Coast Guard’s mandate.

The Philippine Coast Guard Academy (PCG Academy), under the leadership of its Acting Superintendent, Commodore Ivan E Roldan PCG, conducted an Informational Program Visit to the Philippine Merchant Marine Academy (PMMA) on 15 September 2026 in San Narciso, Zambales.

The initiative forms part of the PCG Academy’s continuing efforts to benchmark established academic, leadership, and training programs of premier maritime institutions, with the objective of developing curriculum including both academic and non-academic fundamentals toward the envisioned implementation of a full-blown PCG Academy.

Commodore Roldan PCG was accompanied by the Academy’s Officers, Tactical Officers who are PMMA graduates, Senior Enlisted Personnel, and members of the Coast Guard Officers’ Course (CGOC) Class 31-2025 Bravo.

A significant part of the visit was the presentation on Water Search and Rescue (WASAR) and potential areas of future collaboration between the two institutions. Discussions likewise explored the possibility of establishing an Inter-Academy WASAR Challenge, aimed at promoting camaraderie, healthy competition, technical proficiency, teamwork, and operational readiness among maritime academy cadets.

During the visit, Commodore Roldan PCG also met with PCG-PMMA Cadets and aspiring scholars, where he discussed the purpose of the benchmarking activity and provided updates on the current progress of the Revised PCG Law. He reminded the cadets to remain committed to their studies, uphold discipline and integrity, and refrain from any wrongdoing that may jeopardize their scholarship and future service in the Philippine Coast Guard.

The PCG Academy remains committed to strengthening partnerships with maritime institutions, fostering innovation and excellence in training, and developing competent, disciplined, and values-driven Coast Guard officers prepared to serve the nation and safeguard Philippine waters.

Under the guidance of the Acting Superintendent, Philippine Coast Guard Academy, Commodore Ivan E Roldan PCG, the Philippine Coast Guard Academy conducted the 21-Kilometer Challenge on 13 September 2026, at Bagac Bataan, as part of the pre-anniversary activities of the Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command (CGETDC) and the pre-graduation activities of CGOC Class 31-2025 “Bravo.”

More than just a test of endurance, the 21km challenge is a celebration of discipline, resilience, and camaraderie. Every kilometer conquered represents the determination and strength of future Coast Guard officers as they prepare to take on greater responsibilities in the maritime service of the nation.

With every stride, participants demonstrated that toward excellence demands not only physical strength, but also mental toughness, perseverance, discipline, and an enduring commitment to one’s goals. Bringing together Coast Guard personnel, members of CGOC Class 31-2025 “Bravo,” cadets from Philippine Public Safety Academy and Philippine Army Officer Candidate School, and civilian participants, the challenge showcased a shared spirit of sportsmanship and determination as everyone pushed beyond their limits and embraced the challenge of the 21-kilometer journey.

As CGOC Class 31-2025 “Bravo” moves closer to the culmination of their training, the 21-kilometer Challenge serves as a powerful reminder that the road to leadership is never easy, but every challenge conquered brings them one step closer to the finish line and to a life dedicated to protecting our people, our seas, and our nation.

Through this activity, the Philippine Coast Guard Academy continues to develop future Coast Guard officers with the discipline and leadership needed to face every challenge and uphold their duties and responsibilities to serve the Filipino people, protect our seas, and defend our nation.

The Philippine Coast Guard Academy (PCG Academy), together with the PCG Academy Medical First Aid Station (MEDFAS) and the Coast Guard Officers’ Course Class 31–2025 Bravo, participated in the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) at the Philippine Coast Guard Academy, Psalm Nuclear Power Village, Bagac, Bataan, to strengthen earthquake preparedness, emergency response capabilities, and disaster resilience among personnel and trainees.

The activity featured the conduct of earthquake preparedness and response procedures, including the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” protocol, orderly evacuation, accounting of personnel, and the provision of immediate medical assistance to simulated casualties. The participation of MEDFAS and the Coast Guard Officers’ Course Class 31–2025 Bravo further reinforced the Academy’s capability to respond effectively to emergencies and provide timely assistance when needed.

The successful conduct of the drill underscores the importance of preparedness, discipline, coordination, and teamwork in mitigating the impact of earthquakes and other emergencies. It also provided an opportunity for the personnel and trainees to assess and strengthen their readiness to respond during actual disaster situations.

This activity was conducted through the guidance of the Commander, Coast Guard Education, Training and Doctrine Command, Vice Admiral Tito Alvin G Andal PCG, and under the leadership of the Acting Superintendent, Philippine Coast Guard Academy, Commodore Ivan E Roldan PCG.

The PCG Academy remains committed to fostering a culture of preparedness and resilience, ensuring that its personnel and trainees are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and discipline necessary to respond effectively to emergencies and protect lives.
