The Local Government Unit of Baganga, through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), successfully conducted a Communication, Education, and Public Awareness (CEPA) Orientation on Biodiversity Conservation in Barangay Salingcomot and Barangay Kinablangan, Baganga, Davao Oriental, on July 22โ€“23, 2026.

The activity equipped members of the Barangay Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council (BFARMC), Bantay Dagat, and local fisherfolk with essential knowledge on the importance of protecting our marine biodiversity, particularly Sea turtles (Pawikan) and Sea Cows (Dugongs), and strengthened their understanding of the laws and regulations that safeguard our coastal and marine resources.

On July 04, 2026, the Local Government Unit of Baganga, headed by ๐‡๐จ๐ง. ๐‹๐š๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž๐š๐ง๐จ ๐. ๐“๐š๐ฒ๐š, through its Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), successfully conducted the 2nd Supplies Distribution under Eco-kids Program to the selected child beneficiaries of Barangay Lucod, Baganga, Davao Oriental, in exchange for the wastes they collected.

This initiative continues to create a positive impact by instilling in young minds the importance of proper waste segregation, environmental stewardship, and inspiring them to become dedicated Eco-Kids Warriors committed to protecting and preserving our environment for future generations.

The Local Government Unit of Baganga, through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources โ€“ Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (DENR-CENRO) Baganga, participated in the ๐™‹๐™ง๐™ค๐™ซ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™š-๐™ฌ๐™ž๐™™๐™š ๐™Ž๐™ฎ๐™ฃ๐™˜๐™๐™ง๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™ž๐™ฏ๐™š๐™™ ๐™๐™ง๐™š๐™š ๐™‹๐™ก๐™–๐™ฃ๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐˜ผ๐™˜๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ซ๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ฎ on June 22, 2026, at Mangwak, Barangay Lucod, Baganga, Davao Oriental. The activity was conducted in observance of the Provincial Tree Planting Day and Arbor Day Celebration.

A total of 200 mangrove seedlings were successfully planted, contributing to the protection and rehabilitation of our coastal ecosystems while strengthening our collective commitment to environmental conservation and climate resilience.

Today, May 18, 2026, the Local Government Unit of Baganga, through its Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), conducted the 1st Ecological Solid Waste Management Board Meeting at the Conference Room, 1st Floor Executive Building, Municipal Compound, Baganga, Davao Oriental. The meeting was presided over by ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐๐จ๐ž๐ฅ ๐Œ. ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ ๐จ๐ง, LDRRMO V, who was elected as the Presiding Officer.

The board meeting covered important matters concerning solid waste management programs, environmental protection initiatives, and strategies that will further strengthen the municipalityโ€™s commitment toward a greener, safer, and more sustainable Baganga.
