RAB CAR CONDUCTED ITS YEAR-END PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT, PLANNING AND WATER SAFETY, SURVIVAL AND RESCUE TRAINING.

PART 2

The HSAC RAB-CAR had its three-day Year-End Performance Assessment, Planning and Water Safety, Survival and Rescue (WASAR) Training on December 11-13, 2024, at the Old Rock Resort Hotel, Bolinao, Pangasinan.

The second part of the event was the Water Safety, Survival and Rescue Training conducted by the officers of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) District Northwestern Luzon, spearheaded by Lieutenant Junior Grade (LTJG) Juanito D. Melad, Jr. He was accompanied by Petty Officer (PO)1 Arden D. De Lemos, Petty Officer (PO) 3 Jonathan F. Servito, SN2 Cherbin D. Gumarad and ASN Kharl Stephen A. SiΓ±el.

The officers of the PCG taught RAB-CAR personnel the essential skills to handle water emergencies, including swimming, floating, water rescue techniques and drowning prevention methods. These skills will enhance the personnel's’ survivability during emergency situations in the bodies of water.

RAB CAR SUCCESSFULLY CONDUCTED ITS YEAR-END PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT, PLANNING AND WATER SAFETY, SURVIVAL AND RESCUE TRAINING.

PART 1

The HSAC RAB-CAR had its three-day Year-End Performance Assessment, Planning and Water Safety, Survival and Rescue (WASAR) Training on December 11-13, 2024, at the Old Rock Resort Hotel, Bolinao, Pangasinan.

The first highlights of the event were the presentations and discussions of the 2024 accomplishments and performance of RAB-CAR.

During the assessment, RAB-CAR personnel took the time to evaluate their performance and identify areas for improvement. They discussed challenges they faced and suggested solutions to overcome them. They also discussed their moving forward plans for the Calendar Year (CY) 2025.

Please be informed that Human Settlements Adjudication Commission RAB CAR will be conducting an official activity on 11 to 13 December 2024 (Wednesday to Friday). In view thereof, the operations of the office will be on a limited capacity (skeleton workforce).

β€œWOMEN IN DEFENSE”

In celebration of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW), a Gender and Development Seminar and Self-Defense Session was conducted last November 27, 2024 at the RAB-CAR Office.

The morning session was a seminar on Gender and Development. The speaker was Police Lieutenant Cristina O. Geneta of the PNP CAR Training Center. RAB-CAR personnel actively engaged in an open forum, raising questions and clarifying points on gender-related policies and practices.

The afternoon session was a training for self-defense. The self-defense techniques on how to be in control of various unwanted incidents were provided by Police Executive Master Sergeant Ariel D. Dicang. The personnel learned practical self-defense techniques and gained valuable awareness strategies.

The purpose of the activity was to empower women and to equip women and men of RAB-CAR with the knowledge and skills necessary to defend themselves against abuse and physical assaults.

RAB-CAR SUPPORTS THE 18-DAY CAMPAIGN TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN (VAW) WITH HSAC INFORMATION EDUCATION CAMPAIGN (IEC)

RAB-CAR actively participated in the annual observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW).

The campaign, themed β€œVAW Bigyang-Wakas, Ngayon na ang Oras!”, aligns with the national initiative led by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Anti-VAWC Act of 2004 (RA 9262). Theme in the Region is β€œCordillera, Agbinnadang nga Sardengan ti VAW”.

HSAC and other government offices set-up booths to provide services to the public. HSAC Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) brochures and Information and Education Campaign (IEC) materials were distributed to inform the public about the services and processes of the office.

Kick-Off Ceremony of 18-Day Campaign to End VAWC

RAB-CAR attended the 18-Day Campaign to End VAWC Opening Program, Kapihan and Convergence Activity with the Regional Theme: "π‚πŽπ‘πƒπˆπ‹π‹π„π‘π€, π€π†ππˆπππ€πƒπ€ππ† 𝐍𝐆𝐀 𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐍 π“πˆ 𝐕𝐀𝐖𝐂", held at DPS Compound, Baguio City.

Chief Administrative Officer Maricris C. Porciuncula and Administrative Officer V Joe Mark P. Morales represented the Office to signify the agency’s support to end violence against women and children.

The 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) runs from November 25 to December 12, aims to address the prevalence of violence against women in the country.

This is in pursuant to Proclamation 1172, Series of 2006 which declares November 25 to December 12 of every year as the "18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW)" and Republic Act No. 10398, Series of 2012 which declares November 25 of every year as the "National Consciousness Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and their Children".
