The 4th Cordinnovation Pitching Competition showcased 11 homegrown innovations from across sectors on April 30, 2026, at Paragon Hotel in Baguio City, bringing together Cordilleran startups and researchers to pitch solutions aimed at moving research beyond laboratories and into the market while demonstrating the Cordilleraโs capacity to drive meaningful development outcomes.
The two-day event underscored a convergence of ideas, expertise, and shared ambition, highlighting a growing reality: Cordilleran innovation is steadily moving beyond the laboratory and into markets, industries, and development pathways with broader regional impact.

Featuring locally developed and government-funded technologies from higher education institutions with commercialization potential, the challenge showcased presentations from the University of the Cordilleras and Ifugao State University aimed at moving the innovations closer to market readiness.
To support this, expressions of interest were posted during the presentations to connect innovators with potential investors for business matching and funding opportunities. The Fairness Opinion Board (FOB) also evaluated entries to assess their readiness for commercialization. Following the presentations, outstanding entries were recognized across categories.

โThe winners will again pitch at the upcoming North Luzon Innovation and Technology Transfer Summit 2026,โ said Department of Science and TechnologyโCordillera Administrative Region (DOST-CAR) Regional Director Nancy A. Bantog.
Beyond awarding winners and receiving awards, Commission on Higher EducationโCHED Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Officer-in-Charge Dr. Serafin L. Ngohayon reaffirmed the agencyโs commitment to advancing innovation, noting that it remains embedded in its mandate.
Concluding this year's event, Department of Economy, Planning, and Development DEPDev Cordillera Administrative Region Regional Director Apollo Edwin S. Pagano highlighted the role of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, in regional development. โAI is a tool for productivity, competitiveness, and resilience. We must harness it in ways that are context-sensitive, inclusive, and aligned with our regional priorities,โ Dir. Pagano ended.
The Cordinnovation 2026 event was organized by the Regional Research, Development and Innovation Committee RRDIC CAR, led by the Department of Science and TechnologyโDOST - Cordillera Administrative Region in partnership with regional line agencies, higher education institutions, research consortia, and the private sector.
