The Cordillera Administrative Region or CAR encompasses majority of the areas within the largest mountain range in the country, the Cordillera Central mountains. Located at the heart of Luzon, it is composed of six provinces namely Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga Mountain Province, including the chartered city of Baguio. Having reinvented itself as the Philippines' Premiere Highland Region,

it is steeped in culture and teaming with natural resources that makes it a haven for tourists, businessmen, and seekers of adventure or, simply, peaceful immersion. Breathtaking rice terraces, unexplored caves and trails, picturesque waterfalls and snaky rivers, old churches and ruins, centuries old mummies, a cool climate, and best of all, a unique centuries old culture and hospitable people await tourist who want to explore the Cordilleras.

After extensive site validations and rigorous deliberations, the Department of Tourism Cordillera Administrative Region proudly presents the 12 shortlisted applicants in the ongoing Best Tourism Village Search.
