SEL-ALIGNED MONDAY DEVOTION AND FLAG CEREMONY: Caring, Respecting, and Growing Together
Our SEL and Monday Devotion continues at Aguinaldo Elementary School, a practice we started last year, reminding our learners: “We are fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14).
Through ILKA BADECAO emphasized each of us is uniquely made by God, with our own talents, abilities, and strengths. We should not bully others because of our differences. Instead, we should respect and value one another. Learners were also reminded to speak up and report bullying to their adviser or trusted school personnel.
The devotion was followed by the flag ceremony and simple fitness exercises, reminding us that caring for one another also means caring for our body, mind, emotions, and spirit.
With 830 learners and 28 personnel participating, this simple but sustained practice continues to help build a safe, inclusive, healthy, and GAD-sensitive school where everyone is valued and respected.
The activity shows that caring for learners goes beyond academic learning. Through devotion, social-emotional learning, exercise, and open reminders against bullying, the school continues to build a safe, inclusive, healthy, and respectful environment where every learner—regardless of s*x, ability, background, or differences—is valued and given a sense of belonging. These simple but sustained practices help promote well-being, quality learning, gender sensitivity, peaceful relationships, and responsible participation in the school community.
