ARAL Reading Program โ€“ Week 3

During the third week of the ARAL Reading Program, our students continued to strengthen their reading skills through meaningful and engaging activities. Learners reviewed basic sounds to reinforce their phonemic awareness and improve their reading fluency.
Students also used story map templates and plot diagrams to better understand the passages they read. Through these activities, they identified important story elements such as characters, setting, problem, events, and resolution.
To make learning more interactive, students shared their completed story maps and plot diagrams with their classmates, promoting collaboration, communication, and confidence in expressing their ideas. They also created and shared their own short stories, allowing them to develop their creativity, imagination, and storytelling skills.
Overall, the third week of the program was another successful and enjoyable learning experience for our students as they continued to improve both their reading comprehension and decoding skills through collaborative and structured activities.

Today marks the official kick-off of the ARAL Program at Lindawan National High School, aimed at providing academic remediation and learning support to learners who need additional assistance in improving their literacy skills.

Despite the challenges in communicating with learners during the vacation period, especially the target learners identified under the frustration level at the end of the school year, the school remains committed to reaching out and ensuring that no learner is left behind. Teachers, parents, and stakeholders are working hand in hand to encourage participation and strengthen the learnersโ€™ foundation for the coming school year.

The ARAL Program serves as an opportunity to help learners recover learning gaps, boost confidence, and prepare them for better academic performance. Through dedication, collaboration, and continuous support from the community, the school hopes to make this intervention meaningful and successful.

Together, let us continue to support our learners in their journey toward quality education and academic success.

LAC Focuses on Digitizing Assessments

In the latest Learning Action Cell (LAC) session, Lindawan National High School teachers enhanced their skills in digitizing assessments, uploading materials, and creating courses in the Learning Management System (LMS), with guidance from our ever-supportive Resource Speaker, Sir Waren Ambat, Head Teacher VI of Baguio City High School.

The hands-on training enabled teachers to convert some paper-based assessments into digital formats and ensure secure, accessible learning for students. This marks a great start for both teachers and learners to maximize technology as more assessments are developed. By beginning this journey, the school is setting the stage for a better teaching and learning process.

Participants left the session feeling ready, equipped, and digitally empowered to support 21st-century learning.
