STNHS Welcomes New Leaders Through Oath-Taking Ceremony

Sto. Tomas National High School (STNHS) officially welcomed its newly elected School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA), Homeroom Parent-Teacher Association (HPTA), Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), club, and program officers during its Oath-Taking Ceremony held on July 24, 2026, with the theme “Leading with Integrity, Serving with Excellence.”
The ceremony opened with the singing of the Nationalistic song led by Ms. Lorna Tiago, followed by the opening prayer offered by ESP Master Teacher Mrs. Maria Tina Gabriel. In his welcome message, School Head Mr. Jason W. Pascaden encouraged the newly elected officers to embrace servant leadership, strengthen collaboration, and remain committed to serving the school community.
The Oath of Office was administered by Punong Barangay Lawrence Donato of Barangay Santo Tomas, Apugan, Baguio City, who also delivered an inspiring message emphasizing integrity, accountability, and dedicated service. Representatives from the SPTA, HPTA, SSLG, clubs, and various school programs proudly accepted the responsibilities entrusted to them.

The program also recognized the invaluable service and contributions of the outgoing SPTA officers, expressing the school's gratitude for their dedication and unwavering support.
The ceremony concluded with the closing remarks of Mr. Dave B. Nardo, Head Teacher, who encouraged the newly inducted officers to lead with purpose, work together, and remain steadfast in their commitment.

Following the induction ceremony, a collaboration meeting and initial drafting of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with representatives from the Barangay, SPTA, student organizations, and other stakeholders ensued. The meeting focused on strengthening partnerships in support of the school's Kaagapay Program and other priority initiatives.

STNHS extends its heartfelt congratulations to all newly inducted officers and looks forward to a year of collaborative leadership, meaningful service, and continued excellence.

STNHS | Immediate Response to the 2.3 Magnitude Earthquake

A magnitude 2.3 earthquake was felt within the vicinity of Sto. Tomas National High School (STNHS). Upon the occurrence of the earthquake, learners and school personnel immediately practiced the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” safety procedure to ensure everyone’s safety and protection from possible hazards.

Under the leadership of School Head Sir Jason W. Pascaden and with the guidance of DRRM Focal Person Sir Dave B. Nardo, the school promptly implemented the necessary safety protocols and monitored the situation to ensure the well-being of all learners and personnel.

The awards were presented by English and Filipino School Paper Advisers (SPA) Angeil Mae Norman and Lourdes Tamayo, with co-adviser Janice De Asis documenting the event through photos. They were joined by School Head Jason W. Pascaden, who emphasized the importance of campus journalism in nurturing communication skills, creativity, and responsibility among learners.

Mr. Pascaden encouraged students to actively participate in extracurricular activities such as campus journalism, highlighting the school’s commitment to holistic development that fosters critical thinking, leadership and literacy enhancement.

Tokens were distributed by The Green Heights Editor-in-Chief Briana Venegas and Sports Editor Grechelle Casmo. Both the certificates and tokens serve as a passport for the winners to become part of the growing Campus Journalism family.

Mabilis at Maayos na Pagtugon sa Naganap na Magnitude 4.5 na Lindol

Mabilis at maayos ang naging pagtugon ng mga kawani at mag-aaral ng Sto. Tomas National High School (STNHS) sa naganap na magnitude 4.5 na lindol.
Sa pangunguna ng Punong G**o na si Sir Jason W. Pascaden, katuwang ang SDRRM Focal Person na si Sir Dave Nardo, agad na naisagawa ang mga kinakailangang safety protocols upang matiyak ang kaligtasan ng lahat.

Agarang ipinaalam ng mga class advisers sa mga magulang at tagapag-alaga ang sitwasyon upang masig**o ang ligtas na pagsundo at maayos na pag-uwi ng mga mag-aaral. Ligtas na nakauwi ang mga estudyante, at walang naiulat na masamang insidente matapos ang lindol.

Patuloy ang STNHS sa pagpapatibay ng mga hakbang para sa kahandaan sa sakuna at pagpapanatili ng isang ligtas at protektadong kapaligiran para sa mga mag-aaral, g**o, at kawani.

Santo Tomas National High School Conducts 2nd SPTA General Assembly

Santo Tomas National High School successfully conducted its 2nd School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA) General Assembly on July 3, 2026, with the active participation of parents and guardians, barangay officials, and other stakeholders.

The program opened with the nationalistic song led by Ma'am Janice De Asis, followed by the opening prayer by Ma'am Grace Gad-oan. Sir Dave B. Nardo welcomed the parents and stakeholders, after which messages were delivered by the SPTA representative and the Barangay Official, expressing their support for the school's programs and initiatives.

During the Principal's Hour, Mr. Jason W. Pascaden, School Head, reiterated the Department of Education's guidelines on ensuring a safe, secure, and motivating learning environment. He emphasized the importance of stakeholder collaboration in the effective implementation of programs related to ESMLE.

Mr. Pascaden highlighted the school's Code of Conduct for both learners and personnel, reinforced the prohibition of fraternities and sororities, and discussed key school safety and security measures. He underscored the shared responsibility of parents, school personnel, and the community in maintaining a safe, orderly, and conducive learning environment.

The following policies and measures were emphasized:

- Strict implementation of the Anti-Bullying and Child Protection Policies;
- Strengthening school safety and security through the sustained deployment of security personnel;
- Implementation of the Visitor's Pass System for all visitors entering the campus;
- Conduct of routine and monthly bag inspections to ensure school safety;
- Vehicle inspections upon entry to the school premises;
- Enforcement of the prohibition of portable electronic devices during instructional time in accordance with DepEd regulations; and
- Response strategies, interventions, and appropriate actions in cases of bullying and other school-related offenses.

After the open forum, the assembly concluded with the Homeroom Parents-Teachers Association (HPTA) meetings and the SPTA Election of Officers, strengthening the partnership between the school, parents, and the community in fostering a safe and learner-centered school environment.

INTENSIFIED SCHOOL SAFETY PROTOCOLS AND CONTINUOUS ROUTINE BAG INSPECTIONS

Beginning June 29, 2026, STNHS, in partnership with the PNP–BCPO Station 10, has intensified the implementation of routine bag inspections for all learners and personnel upon entry to the school premises. This initiative is in compliance with Department Order No. 006, s. 2026, which mandates the strengthening of school safety protocols to ensure a safe, secure, and conducive learning environment for everyone.

In line with this directive, the school continues to remind all learners to strictly observe school rules and regulations. Through the leadership of our School Head, Jason W. Pascaden, regular guidance and reminders are given during the weekly flag-raising ceremonies, emphasizing the prevention of bullying, gang involvement, smoking, va**ng, and other behaviors that may compromise the safety and well-being of the school community. Class advisers and school personnel likewise reinforce these policies during homeroom sessions and other school activities.

We encourage the active support and cooperation of parents, learners, school personnel, community leaders, and our valued partners in promoting a culture of safety, discipline, and mutual respect. Together, let us work hand in hand to eliminate violence and harmful vices and foster a school environment where every learner can grow, learn, and thrive safely.

STNHS Conducts National
Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED)

On June 18, 2026, the students, faculty, and staff of Santo Tomas National High School (STNHS), led by our School Head, Sir Jason W. Pascaden, actively participated in the National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill.
Following a smooth evacuation to the school grounds, Ma'am Valerie Tuquero led a practical demonstration on the proper "Duck, Cover, and Hold" techniques. To wrap up the activity, Ma'am Geryl Dumalnog provided a thorough evaluation of the drill, followed by important safety reminders from Sir Jason W. Pascaden.

Under the leadership of our School Head, Sir Jason W. Pascaden, a total of 723 individual participants gathered safely at the school grounds. We are thankful of the high attendance and cooperation from everyone:
