5th-year BS in Architecture students, Terrence Joseph C. Abella, Ulyssa Mae S. Sarto, Josh Benedict DC. Yambao, from Bulacan State University, are currently conducting their undergraduate thesis.

In this regard, they are currently looking for possible respondents in our community. The survey focuses on the respondents’ household profile, current housing and lot conditions, housing needs and preferences, and concerns regarding sloping terrain and possible relocation. It will take approximately 15–20 minutes to complete.

Their target respondents are:
• 18 years old and above
• Household heads
• Currently residing in Barangay Pinget or Lower Quirino Hill

Your responses would be very valuable in helping them understand the housing conditions and needs of the community and in developing appropriate housing design guidelines.

Participation is voluntary, and rest assured that respondents’ names and addresses will not be collected. All information will be kept confidential and will be used solely for academic purposes. Participation will also not affect any land claim, tenure, application, or government decision.

LOOK | July 15, 2026 – University of the Cordilleras School of Law, through its Legal Aid and Clinic, successfully conducted the Barangay Law Lecture Series with a focus on Republic Act No. 11313 (Safe Spaces Act) and Republic Act No. 9344 (Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act) at the Pinget Barangay Hall. This meaningful initiative was spearheaded by the law students of the University of the Cordilleras Law School in collaboration with Barangay Pinget.

The activity brought together a diverse group of participants, including barangay officials, barangay volunteers, representatives from KALIPI, the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), PDJODA, the Senior Citizens Association, parents, and the youth. Through insightful discussions and interactive learning, participants deepened their understanding of gender-sensitive spaces, the rights and protection of children in conflict with the law, and the important roles that families, community leaders, and stakeholders play in fostering a safe, inclusive, and law-abiding community.

Barangay Pinget extends its heartfelt gratitude to the resource speakers and the dedicated law students from the University of the Cordilleras Law School for sharing their expertise and commitment to community service. We also thank all participants for their active engagement and support in making this activity a success. Together, let us continue to promote legal awareness, protect the rights of every individual, and build a more informed, empowered, and compassionate community.

[INVITATION] LAW LECTURE ON RA 11313 (Safe Spaces Act) & RA 9344 (Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act)

Join us for an informative and empowering legal awareness lecture designed to help community members better understand their rights, responsibilities, and the laws that protect women, children, and the youth.

Date: July 15, 2026 (Wednesday)
Time: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Venue: Pinget Barangay Multipurpose Hall (3rd Floor)

This activity is spearheaded by the University of the Cordilleras Law School and UC Legal Aid Clinic in collaboration with Barangay Pinget. Through this lecture, participants will gain essential legal knowledge on the Safe Spaces Act (RA 11313) and the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act (RA 9344), empowering them to become more informed, responsible, and active members of the community.

We encourage all residents, youth leaders, parents, barangay officials, and interested community members to take part in this meaningful learning opportunity.

LOOK | May 29, 2026 – The Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC), in collaboration with the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) ng Pinget and the Barangay Reading Center (BRC), successfully conducted the tripartite event for children, namely, (1) the election of new BCPC officers for CY 2026-2027, (2) teambuilding activity, and (3) an educational tour and cultural immersion through museum visits.

The said event is in support of the principles of Presidential Decree No. 603 (Child and Youth Welfare Code), R.A. 9344 (Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006), and R.A. 8980 (Early Childhood Care and Development Act), which aim to promote and protect the overall well-being of children and youth. Aside from mobilizing social and civic participation among children, the event also aimed to impart knowledge and spark deep cultural appreciation among the participants.

The event began with a simple morning exercise, led by Intern Sheena Diaz, to awaken the children's enthusiasm. Afterwards, participants got to know more about each other through a series of icebreaker and teambuilding activities spearheaded by Child Development Worker (CDW) Ma’am Mhelisa Somilao and SK Chairperson Jude Sadlay. Later on, Barangay Human Rights Action Officer (BHRAO) Mr. Ramoncito Sanchez provided an orientation for the participants on the nature of the BCPC and children's rights. The brief lecture was followed by the election of new officers for CY 2026-2027, presided over by Kag. Julie Mangigil. The rest of the day was reserved for the museum tour.

On behalf of our community, we would like to thank Museo Kordilyera, Baguio Museum Inc., and SLU Museum of Igorot Cultures and Arts for warmly welcoming us. We deeply appreciate the museum staff and workers’ efforts and commitment to cultural preservation.

Moreover, the council would also like to extend its gratitude to the people who made the event possible: Kag. Victoriano G. Balidoc for safely transporting the children; Kag. Carmelita B. Ayan, Kag. Virginia C. Jose, Barangay Clerk (BC) Jocelyn G. Diaz, Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS) Gina Rose Lacatango, and Barangay Tanod (BT) Maribeth Gubat; volunteer parents and guardians Mrs. Breminda Alinso Sadlay, Ms. Jomelynne Alinso Sadlay, and Mrs. Julie Habiatan, for their help in overseeing the children and their unwavering support for the event.

LOOK | May 2, 2026 – Children aged 8–14 actively participated in Batalympics 2026 (Barangay Level) held at Pinget Barangay Hall.

Participants enjoyed a variety of engaging activities, including board games such as Scrabble, chess (blitz), and sungka, as well as team games like tug-of-war and the sack race. Beyond the fun and friendly competition, the activity aimed to promote teamwork, sportsmanship, critical thinking, and active community involvement among the children and youth which will help them build confidence and develop essential social and cognitive skills at an early age.

Winners from each category will have the opportunity to proudly represent the community in the upcoming District-Level Batalympics this May.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the barangay officials and volunteers whose dedication made this event possible—Kag. Virginia C. Jose, Kag. Irish S. Calaya, SKC Jude Xyrelle Alinso Sadlay, Mrs. Breminda Alinso Sadlay, Ms. Jomelynne Alinso Sadlay, Ms. Jocelyn G. Diaz, and Ms. Aida Napeek. From overseeing and facilitating the games to ensure their smooth and fair conduct, to preparing and cooking meals for the children, and for their overall support and commitment. Batalympics 2026 (Barangay Level) is coming soon!

We invite children aged 8–14 from our community to join the exciting games we’ve prepared. Participants can compete in board games such as scrabble, chess (blitz), and sungka, as well as team games like tug-of-war and the sack race. Please note that each child may participate in only one game.

Happening this May 2, 2026 at Pinget Barangay Hall, 1:00 PM onwards.

Registration is now open and will run until Thursday. Parents or guardians may register by visiting the barangay hall or by sending us a message. Slots are limited.

Winners will have the honor of representing our barangay at the District-Level Batalympics this coming May.
