Based on the Evacuation Center Information Board, one (1) residence's yard was eroded at No. 6, Purok 1. The eroded portion is adjacent to the house's foundation, which poses danger as rainfall continues.

Kudos to the BDRRMC personnel, Kagawad Armando Quevedo, Kagawad Jaime Munar and Tanod Jayson Quevedo, who provided assistance and covered the eroded area with tarpaulin (tolda) to serve as a temporary measure to prevent further erosion.

Kudos to the barangay officials and volunteers who despite the rainy weather swept the pathways, removed moss to prevent accident slips, and declogged drainages.

August 23–29, 2026 | Lower Quirino Hill Barangay conducted BarKaDa, bringing together Barangay officials, workers, and volunteers in the spirit of bayanihan.

Despite the rainy season, our Barangay Officials also went around the barangay for Oplan Taob to remove stagnant water and help prevent dengue, as well as clean the stairs to keep pathways safe and prevent slippery surfaces.

Together, let’s keep Lower Quirino Hill clean, green, and safe! 💚

August 26, 2026 | Indigent Senior Citizens of Lower Quirino Hill, assisted by Kagawad on Social Services, Hon. Edward Barnachea, received their 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐩𝐞𝐧) for the 3rd quarter, together with other social pensioners from other barangays in District 8 (East Quirino Hill, West Quirino Hill, Middle Quirino Hill, Camdas and Happy Homes) at Middle Quirino Hill covered court.

The payout was facilitated with the able assistance of Kagawads on Social Services of District 8 Barangays, alongside the paymasters from the City Government of Baguio.

Lower Quirino Hill socpen beneficiaries recorded a 97.62% (41 out of 42 beneficiaries) pay out rate.

NO SEGREGATION, NO COLLECTION POLICY.

Let us practice proper waste segregation to have a cleaner and safer community, and take part in saving our mother earth.

𝗕𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗚𝗔𝗬𝗦 𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘 𝗢𝗡 𝗪𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗘 𝗦𝗘𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

Barangays participating in the intensified and standardized waste segregation and collection program will be required to strengthen information, education and communication (IEC) campaigns to ensure residents and establishments understand and follow proper garbage segregation.

This was reached during a meeting between Mayor Benjamin Magalong, the punong barangays of the Bida Barangay "Pansa-nopen Tayo" pilot barangays Irisan, Dominican-Mirador, Gibraltar, Bakakeng Central, Guisad Central and Happy Hollow, concerned city offices and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) representatives led by Dr. Marjorie Balay-as.

The mayor said consistent segregation at source is necessary for the city’s improved collection and recycling system to work and eventually also uplift the city's circular economy projects.

The waste segregation program will require households and establishments to separate recyclable, residual, food and green wastes according to the prescribed system.

It will be supplemented by the maximized utilization of the materials recovery facilities (MRFs) through a manual of operations for barangay MRFs to guide daily activities and address gaps in waste collection and processing.

Barangays will have to adopt ordinances to cover the programs.

The mayor said the combined implementation of information campaigns, barangay ordinances and standardized MRF operations is intended to make waste segregation a regular practice rather than a temporary activity.

✅Fruit peelings & vegetable waste (dry) (sealed in green plastics)

✅Metals (aluminum cans, tin cans, scrap metal pieces, metal bottle caps)

✅Other recyclable wastes

Note: Recyclable waste must be empty, rinsed, and dried.
