It can primarily be reached by taking the Naguilian-Bagulin Provincial Road or, alternatively, by minor roads from San Fernando City, San Juan or Burgos. Befitting this off-the-beaten-path destin

ation, the 4x4 off-the-road challenge is being offered to adventurous visitors wherein they can venture into Bagulin’s untamed interior landscapes. Backpackers will find Bagulin an ideal spot for trekking and camping with such sites as Tagudtud People’s Park, Loslosi Falls and Kedlap Burial Cave in Allabok which, with its cultural significance, was declared a National Cultural Treasure in 1977. Another site of note is Barangay Cardiz, La Union’s highest point where one can find Tili Ti Nuang Falls. Aside from its natural wonders, the municipality is resplendent with indigenous folklore. Bagulin was said to have been named after Bago, a daring highlander, Ulin, a beautiful lass from the lowlands, and their son Bagulin who grew up to become the best chieftain that ever ruled the community. The Local Government Unit of Bagulin informs the public that work in all Municipal Government offices will be suspended effective 12:01 PM onwards today, May 29, 2026, to give way to the conduct of the Municipal-Wide Search and Destroy Activity Against Dengue Breeding Sites.

This initiative is part of the municipality’s intensified efforts to combat the rising number of dengue cases and protect the health and safety of every Bagulinian.

All municipal officials, employees, and Job Order personnel have been directed to participate in the activity within their respective barangays by identifying, cleaning, and eliminating potential mosquito breeding sites such as stagnant water, uncovered containers, clogged canals, and similar areas.

We encourage everyone in the community to join this collective effort in keeping our surroundings clean and dengue-free.

Together, let us protect our families and communities from dengue.

RICE DISTRIBUTION PROGRAM | MAY 25, 2026

The Local Government Unit of Bagulin successfully conducted the 1st Batch of the Rice Distribution Program under the Bagong Pilipinas Rice Program (Local Government Support Fund - LGSF) on May 25, 2026.

Present during the activity were Mayor Virgilio C. Flor, Vice Mayor Jaime A. Lictao, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, Municipal Administrator Ms. Gina S. Flor, MLGOO Ms. Joralyn F. Villasan, and DILG La Union Cluster Leader Ms. Charina Flora. Also in attendance were the ten (10) Punong Barangays, together with several barangay kagawads and their employees.

The distribution of rice assistance marks the first batch of the program, which aims to provide support to eligible beneficiaries and strengthen food security within the municipality. This initiative shows the government's commitment to reaching communities and ensuring every Filipino benefits from programs that support inclusive growth and social welfare.

The LGU of Bagulin extends its gratitude to all partner agencies, barangay officials, and personnel for their cooperation and dedication, which contributed to the successful implementation of this undertaking.

May 18, 2026| The Municipality of Bagulin joined the observance of the 2026 International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, reaffirming its commitment to HIV/AIDS awareness, education, and advocacy.

The activity commenced with a brief orientation on the significance and history of the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial, delivered by Ms. Prescila Saldo, Nurse II, highlighting the importance of remembrance, awareness, and collective action in addressing HIV/AIDS.

As a symbol of solidarity and support, municipal officials and employees participated in a candle-lighting activity and formed the HIV/AIDS awareness ribbon, honoring the lives of those affected by HIV/AIDS and remembering those who have passed on. The observance served as a reminder of the continuing need to promote compassion, understanding, and inclusivity while working towards the elimination of stigma and discrimination.

LOOK | Pride and honor filled the municipality as the student-athletes, together with their coaches, who proudly represented the town during the recently concluded Region 1 Athletic Association (R1AA) Meet 2026 paid a courtesy call to the Municipal Mayor Virgilio C. Flor following their remarkable participation in the regional meet hosted by Candon City.

Making the community even prouder, Zaijan Estira of Suyo National High School earned a spot in the prestigious Larong Pambansa after qualifying in the High Jump Category. His achievement stands as a testament that hard work and perseverance can truly elevate dreams to greater heights.

According to Zaijan, his success would not have been possible without the people who continuously supported and guided him throughout his journey.
