Now accessible through the 𝗗𝗢𝗦𝗧 𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗚 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝘂𝗯, the 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗿 (𝗙𝗜𝗠𝗩) gives local leaders an interactive, science-based lens to visualize potential flood extent at varying water-level thresholds, ranging from 0.50 meter to 2.00 meters. Because flooding impacts lives, farms, roads, and livelihoods in complex ways, knowing exactly where waters might spread before disaster strikes changes everything.

The FIMV equips Local Government Units with crucial intelligence to pinpoint at-risk communities early, prioritize high-risk zones for field validation, strengthen contingency plans, protect vulnerable agricultural assets, and communicate clear risk scenarios directly to decision-makers and frontline residents.

Currently live for 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮, including the 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼, 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿, 𝗟𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗼, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗯𝗮, the viewer uses land elevation data combined with documented, geotagged flood reports to model potential scenarios, with plans to progressively expand coverage to more partner LGUs.

While the FIMV serves as a vital strategic planning tool rather than an official forecasting system, its strength lies in reinforcing local knowledge, official advisories, and direct ground verification by Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices (LDRRMOs).

With heavy rainfall forecasted to continue over the next few days, the safety and well-being of our personnel, partners, guests, participants and community remain our utmost priority.

Considering the above, management has taken the necessary decision to postpone the 2026 Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) in Central Luzon, originally scheduled for September 2–4, 2026.

Please take note that the new schedule would be October 26–28, 2026, on the same venues as previously announced.

DOST Central Luzon, through DOST-SINAG, is helping bring science and technology closer to the people who make important decisions for agriculture. This four-day training for the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) focuses on using the DOST-SINAG Virtual Hub and Google Earth Engine (GEE).

Participants learn how to access agricultural information, work with satellite and climate data, and use mapping tools to monitor crop conditions, floods, droughts, and typhoon-related risks. These skills can help PCIC assess crop damage, check insurance claims, identify affected areas faster, and make better-informed decisions.

By turning complex data into clear maps and useful statistics, the training supports more accurate, transparent, and responsive crop insurance operations.

Because when agricultural decisions are guided by better data, technology becomes more than just a tool—it helps build smarter, more efficient, and more resilient agriculture.
