A productive consultative meeting was held with OCEANUS Conservation to discuss a transformative livelihood initiative for fisherfolk association in Bais City. The envisioned program aims to establish a co-managed livelihood enterprise between the City Government of Bais and the Peopleโs Organization, creating sustainable economic opportunities while fostering responsible stewardship of our rich coastal and marine ecosystems.
The City Public Employment Service Office (CPESO) recommended that the initiative begin with the development of a comprehensive conceptual framework to clearly define its vision, goals, governance structure, and implementation strategies. This will be followed by a multi-agency and multi-office coordination meeting to align programs, mobilize resources, and strengthen partnerships in advancing the proposed agri-fishery and ecotourism enterprise.
By connecting protected ecosystems to people, this initiative seeks to deepen appreciation and understanding of our natural heritage, demonstrating that environmental conservation and community development can go hand in hand. Together, we aspire to build resilient coastal communities where biodiversity conservation, sustainable livelihoods, and inclusive local economic growth flourish through shared responsibility and collaborative governance.
