Tourism activities and destinations in Bakun, Benguet are officially REOPENING effective tomorrow, Wednesday, August 19, 2026, per Executive Order No. 59.

ＫＡＹＡＰＡ ＴＯＵＲ ＧＵＩＤＥＳ ＧＥＴＴＩＮＧ ＲＥＡＤＹ！

Barangay Kayapa is slowly getting ready to welcome visitors as it prepares for the opening of its tourism attractions. As part of the preparations, the Tourism Services Unit, in coordination with Barangay Kayapa, conducted an orientation for the newly organized tour guides on August 5, 2026.

MTAO-Designate Ms. Elena A. Suni-en shared some important reminders on the role of tour guides, proper handling of visitors, safety, emergency preparedness, and responsible tourism.

The discussion also highlighted that being a tour guide is not only about showing visitors around, but also about keeping them safe, making them feel welcome, and helping protect Kayapa’s natural and cultural treasures.

The orientation also gave the guides a chance to ask questions, share their thoughts, and talk about their preparations for the opening of the attractions.

More training will be coordinated with the Benguet Provincial Tourism Office and the Department of Tourism to further equip the guides as they take on this important role.
