A two-day Marine Protected Area (MPA) Network Workshop was successfully conducted to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders and enhance the management of marine protected areas. The workshop brought together representatives from local government units, partner agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders involved in coastal and marine resource management.
The workshop focused on planning sessions, lectures and discussions, and action planning aimed at developing effective strategies for establishing and strengthening the Marine Protected Area Network. Participants reviewed the current status of existing MPAs, discussed key challenges and opportunities, and explored best practices in MPA governance, biodiversity conservation, fisheries management, and coastal resource protection.
Through collaborative planning and active participation, the workshop produced strategic recommendations and identified priority actions to improve coordination among MPA managers, promote ecosystem connectivity, and ensure the long-term sustainability of marine resources. The activity also reinforced the commitment of participating institutions to work together in implementing science-based and community-supported conservation initiatives.
The workshop concluded with the formulation of an initial action plan and agreed-upon strategies that will guide future efforts in strengthening the Marine Protected Area Network, contributing to improved marine biodiversity conservation and sustainable fisheries management.

On August 4–5, 2026, a total of 97 bags of tilapia floating feeds were distributed to upland tilapia growers as part of the ongoing aquaculture support program. The activity was conducted to provide timely production inputs that will help sustain fish growth, improve feeding efficiency, and enhance the overall productivity of tilapia farming operations in upland communities.
The distribution aimed to reduce the financial burden on fish farmers by ensuring they have access to quality floating feeds, which are essential during the grow-out stage of tilapia culture. Floating feeds allow farmers to easily monitor feeding behavior, minimize feed wastage, maintain better water quality, and promote faster and healthier fish growth. These advantages contribute to improved feed conversion efficiency and increased survival rates, ultimately leading to higher harvest yields.
The 97 bags of feeds were allocated among qualified upland tilapia growers based on established distribution guidelines and production requirements. The recipients acknowledged receipt of the feeds and committed to using them solely for their intended purpose. Technical guidance on proper feeding management, feed storage, and best aquaculture practices was also reinforced to encourage efficient utilization of the assistance.
This intervention demonstrates the commitment of the fisheries program to strengthen inland aquaculture, improve the livelihood of upland fish farmers, and contribute to local food security. By providing essential production inputs, the program supports sustainable tilapia production, increases farmers' productivity and income, and promotes the long-term development of the aquaculture sector within the community.

Tanong bakit hinuhuli ang compressor mode of fishing?
