Two of our diligent non-teaching personnel, Ms. Joyce Ann D. Gunio, Administrative Officer II, who marked her birthday yesterday, April 27, 2026, and Mr. Gerry A. Deocareza, OIC-Assistant Principal, who celebrated his birthday last April 22, 2026, were treated to simple yet heartfelt birthday celebrations today, April 28, 2026.

This celebration was made more meaningful through the full support and initiative of Dr. Jennifer G. De Guzman, School Principal IV, who joined the rest of the non-teaching personnel in extending warm wishes to the celebrators.

In line with Balanga City’s strong commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices, the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) has launched the 2026 Junk Fair “𝑻𝒓𝒂𝒔𝒉𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒓.”

Anchored on the theme “𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐤, 𝐀𝐇𝐀, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐢,” the official mascots of the city’s 25th Cityhood Anniversary, the drive highlights creativity in recycling while promoting responsible waste management.

The City of Balanga National High School–JHS through the Science Department, proudly participates in this meaningful initiative, which integrates environmental advocacy with the observance of Global Recycling Day, reinforcing awareness among the youth on conservation and resource sustainability.

Judging of entries will take place today, April 22, 2026, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Exciting prizes await the winners, while consolation prizes ensure that all participants receive incentives for their efforts.

To equip youth facilitators with essential skills and strategies in guiding SPES participants, to strengthen their leadership and communication competencies as trainers and mentors, and to promote teamwork and collaboration for more effective program delivery, the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) Youth Facilitators’ Training of Trainers 2026 is being held at the City of Balanga National High School–JHS audio-visual room from April 22 to 23, 2026.

This year’s theme, “𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐥, 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐲,” centers on the 𝑫𝒓𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑 𝑱𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚 training module, which empowers facilitators to take charge of their growth and lead with confidence.

The program is spearheaded by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) in partnership with the City Health Office and the Balanga Youth Health Ambassadors. They ensure that participants gain not only technical skills, but also holistic leadership training rooted in youth empowerment and community service.

To address the classroom-based challenges they encountered during their internship at City of Balanga National High School-JHS for SY 2025–2026, the pre-service teachers (PSTs) from Asia Pacific College of Advanced Studies (APCAS) presented their final defense of action research projects at the school’s audio-visual room on April 21, 2026, starting at 1:00 p.m. The panel was composed of Mary Ann G. Balajo, Department Head-Designate in English; Dr. Doreen Rose R. Estrella, Dean of the College of Education at APCAS; and Dr. Jennifer G. De Guzman, School Principal IV.

The session proved productive and meaningful as the future teachers transformed real classroom problems they had experienced into action research studies aimed at finding solutions and interventions. This process not only sharpened their research skills but also prepared them to become reflective educators who can respond to challenges with practical strategies.

To help participants recognize common workplace stressors and their effects on health, learn practical techniques for organizing and securing digital files, and practice self-care strategies to maintain work-life balance while fostering a supportive, stigma-free culture of mental wellness are the objectives of the 2026 Summer Enhancement Seminar for Non-Teaching Personnel that was successfully held at the school’s audio-visual room on April 20–21, 2026.

On the first day, Mrs. Sarah B. Cruz, Guidance Counselor III, delivered a session on The Art of Managing Stress, by having guided participants in identifying stress triggers and coping strategies. This was followed by Ms. Joyce Ann D. Gunio, Administrative Officer II, who discussed Fundamentals of Mail Merge and Data Management for Administrative Efficiency. Both speakers engaged participants in hands-on activities, ensuring that learning was applied directly to their work context.

The second day featured Dr. Jayvie Villazor, Assistant Professor II at Bataan Peninsula State University and Consultant/Psychologist at Fort Magsaysay Philippine Army Station Hospital, who spoke on Cultivating Mental Wellness and Psychological Safety in the Government Workforce. His session encouraged participants to reflect on their character strengths and how these can be harnessed to build resilience and a healthier workplace environment.

The seminar proved to be both productive and meaningful, by having given participants valuable insights and practical takeaways. These lessons will not only enhance their efficiency and well-being at work but also enrich their roles at home as parents, spouses, and members of the community.
