BAGYO UPDATE
5PM, November 8, 2025
Typhoon Uwan continues to rapidly intensify as it moves east of Bicol.
Wind signal no. 3 is now up in Catanduanes, eastern Camarines Sur, eastern Albay, northeastern Sorsogon, and northeastern Northern Samar.
Metro Manila and 19 others areas in eastern Luzon and Eastern Visayas are now under signal no. 2 while 41 other areas in Luzon, Visayas, and Caraga have been placed under signal no. 1.
At 4 p.m. Saturday, Uwan was located 620 km east of Virac, Catanduanes.
The typhoon is now packing winds of 150 kph with gusts up to 185 kph. It is moving west northwestward at 30 kph.
It will intensify up to super typhoon strength tonight or early Sunday.
It may make landfall over northern Aurora or southern Isabela Sunday evening or early Monday.
There is an increasing likelihood of a slight southward shift in the typhoon’s forecast track that may result to a direct hit or landfall over Catanduanes.
Uwan will significantly weaken while crossing the mountainous terrain of Northern Luzon but will remain a typhoon.
The typhoon will be over the West Philippine Sea by Monday morning or afternoon.
The track and intensity forecast will still change so the public is advised to continuously monitor updates on the weather disturbance. | via Ariel Rojas, ABS-CBN News
