LEVEL UP OUR LOCAL PRODUCTS!

Training on Food Processing, Packaging, Labeling, and Pricing under the Department of Agriculture - Special Area for Agriculture Development (SAAD) Program has been successfully conducted on September 3-4 respectively.

MAAN Farmers and Fisherfolk Association from Brgy. Polot and MALUY-A Farmers Association from Brgy. Ubongan Diot delightfully learned in making Cassava Chips and Corn Polvoron — products with definite market potential and sure to please the public's taste.

This training aims to develop the livelihood of our farmers through their associations, and equip them with additional knowledge to make their products and businesses more competitive.

The Municipal Agriculture Office expresses its appreciation to all the members of the association, to the Department of Agriculture–SAAD Program for empowering our farmers and to the unwavering support of our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Marites C. Dela Rosa in promoting a more progressive and sustainable Baleno!

PAMAMAHAGI NG PATABA (FERTILIZER) PARA SA MGA MAGSASAKA NG PALAY SA BAYAN NG BALENO
NOONG IKA-13 AT IKA-15 NG AGOSTO 2025.

Isinagawa ng Municipal Agriculture Office ang pamamahagi ng mga pataba sa mga magsasaka ng palay sa mga clustered area ng Brgy. Gangao, Batuila, Cagara, Sog-ong, at Lagta.

Umabot sa 308 sako ng pataba ang naipamahagi sa 150 benepisyaryo sa ilalim ng Fertilizer Voucher Scheme Program ng Department of Agriculture. Layunin ng programang ito na matulungan ang ating mga magsasaka upang mapanatili ang produksiyon ng palay at masiguro ang masaganang ani.

Lubos na nagpapasalamat ang Municipal Agriculture Office sa Department of Agriculture para sa kanilang patuloy na suporta, at higit sa lahat, sa ating mga magsasaka ng palay na patuloy na nagsusumikap para sa seguridad sa pagkain ng ating bayan.

Lubos din tayong nagpapasalamat sa patuloy na suporta ng ating Punong Bayan, Hon. Marites Cabug Dela Rosa, para sa kapakanan ng mga mamamayan ng Baleno.

Happy 76th Founding Anniversary Municipality of Baleno!

As part of the celebration for Araw ng Baleno, the Agri-Trade Fair successfully showcased the dedication of our local farmers through their fresh harvests, farm products, and other local goods. This activity reaffirmed the vital role of agriculture in ensuring food security and in driving the continued progress of our municipality. 🥭🍌🌽

The Municipal Agriculture Office expresses its deepest appreciation to our farmers, to all Balenians, and to the strong and effective leadership of the LGU Baleno under Mayor Marites Cabug Dela Rosa for making this event possible. 💚

Hand in hand, we will continue to strengthen the Agriculture Sector as the backbone of our community as we work towards a more progressive, sustainable, and united Baleno.

Inaanyayahan po namin kayo na bumisita at bumili sa mga booth ng ating mga farmers na kung saan ibibida nila ang kanilang produkto sa gaganapin na AGRI-TRADE FAIR 2025 sa Agosto 19, 2025, DTI NEGOSYO CENTER (front of Cebuana) bilang pakikiisa sa selebrasyon ng Baleno 76th Founding Anniversary. Makakasiguro tayo na mura na, FRESH FROM THE FARM pa!

Inaanyayahan din namin ang ating ibang magsasaka at mga indibidwal na gustong ibida at idisplay ang kanilang produkto sa AGRI-TRADE FAIR 2025. Bumisita at makipag-ugnayan lang sa aming opisina para sa iba pang impormasyon.

“After every storm, the sun will shine again”

Congratulations to our farmers as they received their checks released by the Philippine Crop Insurance Corp.

These indemnity checks are payments for the farmers insured crops that was damaged by typhoons and pest and diseases.

So, we are encouraging our local farmers to insured their crops to avail this program. Insurance for crops are free, just visit our office to apply your crops for insurance.

The Department of Agriculture- Bicol through the Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD) Program conducted Organizational Strengthening Training and Team Building Activity to SAAD beneficiaries (consisting of 25 farmers per association) at Brgy. Ubongan Diot, Madancalan and Polot on April 2-4 respectively.

The training aims to improve communication, build trust, enhance collaboration and increase motivation of members of the organizations.

Utmost thanks to the DA Regional Staff, Baleno SAAD Focal, Maam Rose Ann Trabado and to the speaker, Engr. Jeffry Arevalo for empowering our farmers and all the support and interventions.

We are also thankful to Presidents of Farmers organizations at Brgy. Ubongan Diot, Madancalan and Polot for their warm welcome and for always accepting the challenge in producing agricultural crops, poultry eggs and corn and cassava.

MARCH IS RABIES AWARENESS MONTH, dedicated to spreading awareness about rabies, a fatal but 100% preventable disease.

Thus, in celebration of the Rabies Awareness Month, the Municipal Agriculture Office conducted 2-days mass anti-rabies vaccination of cats and dogs in Poblacion, Baleno, Masbate. Additionally, our office also distributed cards containing information about rabies and how to prevent spread of rabies.

The vaccination was conducted on March 26-27, 2025 and made possible through the help of the BLGU Poblacion.

Congratulations to the 90 beneficiaries who received 7,000 pesos each as Rice Farmers Financial Assistance through the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund of the Department of Agriculture as the distribution of Interventions Monitoring Card/ATM Card was spearheaded by our office done through the leadership of our Municipal Mayor Hon. TULONG PARA SA MAGSASAKA: Libreng Pamimigay ng Hybrid na Binhi at Soil ameliorants.

Sa pamumuno ng ating butihing Mayor Marites C. Dela Rosa, matagumpay na naipamahagi ang 150 sako ng hybrid(TH82) na binhi na nagkakahalaga ng 750,000 pesos at kabuuang 175 na iba’t ibang klase ng soil ameliorants sa mahigit 100 na mga magsasaka ng Lagta, Sog-ong, Cagara, Batuila at Gangao.

Naipatupad ang programang ito dahil sa pagsisikap ng Municipal Agriculture Office at sa pamamagitan ng programa ng Department of Agriculture-National Rice Program na kung saan ay prayoridad na mabigyan ng hybrid na binhi ang mga clustered areas na may irigasyon, may magandang source ng patubig at kakayahang magtanim ng hybrid.

Sa patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng bigas, isang malaking hakbang at tulong ito sa ating mga magsasaka para mas mapataas pa nila ang kanilang produksyon at mabawasan ang kanilang gastusin sa pagpapalay.

"ORDINANSA NA NAGDEDEKLARA AT NAGTATATAG SA BAYBAYIN NG BARANGAY POLOT AT BARANGAY MADANCALAN BALENO, MASBATE BILANG MARINE PROTECTED AREA FISH SANCTUARY AT NAGPAPATAW NG PARUSA SA PAGLABAG DITO"

This proposed ordinance no. 07 declaring portion of Polot-Madancalan coast as marine protected area/fish sanctuary is very timely as one of the main environmental issues our country facing right now is about our marine biodiversity, as accordingly, 70% of our mangroves are already damaged because of continuous reclamation and pollution, 20% of our sea grasses are already destroyed because of siltation which is cause primarily by mining and almost 90% of our coral reefs are endangered because of climate change and the continuous heating of temperature, illegal and over fishing (Biodiversity Management Bureau, 2016). So, this ordinance is a great avenue as it includes the preservation and protection of our marine resources in the municipality.

The LGU-BALENO through the leadership of our Mayor. Marites C. Dela Rosa, procured and purchased vaccine for the prevention of rabies while our office lead the mass anti-rabies vaccination of dogs and cats in several barangays in the municipality.

We also express our utmost thanks for the assistance offered by all of our partners in accomplishing this activity especially to the barangay officials, BHW, intern of BNHS and MPDCI OJT's with their adviser.
