ASCOT SoIT Conducts Monitoring Visit to BSIT Practicum Students in LGU Maria Aurora (May 5, 2026)
The School of Information Technology (SoIT) of Aurora State College of Technology conducted an official monitoring visit for its Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) practicum students deployed at the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Maria Aurora.
The visit commenced with a courtesy call to the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Ariel S. Bitong, during which the academic team formally introduced and presented the proposed deployment of the eHR: Web-Based Human Resource Management and Employee Services Portal, a system developed by the BSIT students. The academic team was led by the ASCOT Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Mayreen V. Amazona, together with SoIT Dean Ms. Cristelita P. Lombres, OJT Coordinator Mr. Christopher G. Marmol, and OJT advisers Mr. King Alvin P. Grospe and Mr. Christian C. Roxas.
Following the courtesy call, the team engaged in a productive discussion with the Municipal Human Resource Management Officer, Ms. Dalia M. Padua, to further elaborate on the system’s features, potential implementation, and alignment with the LGU’s operational needs. This initiative highlights the institution’s commitment to integrating academic outputs into practical, community-based solutions.
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was also presented and discussed as part of the evaluation and formalization process for the system’s implementation. The agreement is set for further review and eventual signing by the concerned parties.
Overall, the monitoring visit was successfully carried out, ensuring that BSIT practicum students are effectively guided while contributing meaningful technological solutions to the LGU of Maria Aurora. The activity further strengthens the partnership between ASCOT and local government units in advancing innovation, service, and community development.
