Guarding the Future: Coast Guard Station Aurora, Sub-Stations and Specialized Units Unite for Brigada Eskwela Across Aurora

LOOK: In a powerful display of Bayanihan, Coast Guard Station Aurora together with its Sub-Stations, CRG-NELZN, SOU, MSSU, and CGWEISC actively participated in the annual Brigada Eskwela across various schools in Aurora. The specialized Coast Guard contingent worked alongside teachers and volunteers to repair classrooms, clear debris, and repaint facilities. Their joint efforts successfully created safe, clean, and motivating learning environments, ensuring local students are well-prepared for the upcoming school year.

COASTGUARD SUB-STATION DINALUNGAN AND MENRO DINALUNGAN RESCUED AND RELEASED TWO TRAPPED GREEN SEA TURTLES IN DINALUNGAN, AURORA

ICYMI: Two endangered Green sea turtles were successfully rescued and returned to the ocean on June 4, 2026, following a swift joint operation by local authorities and community members. The rescue began around 8:00 AM when Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Dinalungan received a report from a concerned citizen in Sitio Marabini, Barangay Nipoo, Dinalungan, Aurora, regarding two turtles trapped inside a fishpen. CGSS Dinalungan immediately coordinated with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO - Dinalungan) to deploy a response team to the site.

Upon arrival, Christine Joy D. Portera, an Administrative Aide I and Deputized Wildlife Enforcer, along with MENRO personnel, officially identified the marine reptiles as one (1) male and one (1) female Green sea turtle. After a thorough assessment confirmed they were uninjured and in safe condition, the team immediately released both turtles back into their natural habitat along the shoreline of Sitio Marabini.

Local officials commended the vigilant resident for the timely report, emphasizing the vital role of community cooperation in protecting endangered marine wildlife.

ICYMI: Moving swiftly to fortify local maritime safety and disaster response capabilities, the new Ststion Commander of Coast Guard Station Aurora paid a Courtesy visit to the Aurora Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) led by PDRRMO Chief Engr. Amado Elson Egargue on May 25, 2025, the session focused on streamlining communication channels and synchronizing emergency protocols ahead of the impending typhoon season. A major highlight of the discussion was the strict, uncompromising enforcement of the "No Sail Policy" during heavy weather and typhoon advisories, aiming for total compliance among local fisherfolk and maritime vessels to ensure zero casualties at sea.

The visit unified the front between CGS Aurora and the provincial government in enforcing stringent maritime safety regulations, safeguarding the lives of both residents and tourists, and fostering a more resilient Aurora.

ICYMI: In a move to strengthen maritime security, disaster resilience, and community relations along the Pacific coast, On May 25, 2025, Station Commander of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Aurora, together with its Civil Relations Group, paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Danilo "Danny" Tolentino and Vice Mayor Franklin Reyes at the Municipal Hall. The meeting focused on reinforcing collaborative frameworks between the local government unit (LGU) and national maritime forces, specifically addressing the ongoing operational integration of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) infrastructure in the municipality, intensified maritime law enforcement, and synchronized disaster response protocols. Both Mayor Tolentino and Vice Mayor Reyes warmly welcome the New Station Commander and expressed their unwavering support for initiatives that protect local fisherfolk, preserve the marine environment, and foster a safer environment for ecotourism to thrive.

The Station Commander expressed profound appreciation to the Dipaculao LGU for its consistent support in enhancing PCG capabilities. The courtesy visit concluded with a mutual commitment to maintain an open channel of communication and streamline future coordination, reaffirming a shared vow to serve the people of Dipaculao with proactive, collaborative leadership.

he People's Republic of China is scheduled to launch the LONG MARCH 7A from the Wenchang Space Launch Site in Wenchang, Hainan, between 12:08AM to 01:12AM PhST on 27 May 2026. Parts of this Long March 12 Rocket are expected to drop within the following identified Drop Zone 1 at approximately 41 NM Away from Burgos, Ilocos Norte and 62 NM away from Dalupiri Island, Cagayan and Drop Zone 2 is 69 NM away from Sta. Ana, Cagayan and 81 NM away from Camiguin Island, Cagayan.

NOTICE TO MARINERS

This is to formally inform all fisherfolks, seafarers, and watercraft operators of the missing unmanned MBCA “BEATRICE ELIE”, (White, yellow and blue) owned by Mr. Villamor N Fernandez (60) and operated by Mr. Eli Perotcho (62) both residents of Brgy. Maligaya, Dipaculao, Aurora. According to Mr. Perotcho, on 16 May 2026 at about 1800H, the said MBCA was anchored at Brgy. Ditawini, Dinalungan, Aurora. However, upon their return on 17 May 2026 at about 0830H, they discovered that the said MBCA was already missing.

In light of this ongoing operation:
• Mariners transiting the area are urged to maintain heightened vigilance and report any sightings or relevant information to the nearest Coast Guard Station or maritime authority.
• Vessels navigating near the area should exercise extreme caution, observe maritime safety protocols and monitor official maritime broadcasts for updates.

The widest dissemination of this advisory and cooperation of all concerned is highly encouraged for the safety of lives and properties at sea.
