36 NA MGA PWD SA AURORA, NAKATANGGAP NG LIBRENG SALAMIN SA MATA!

Nasa 36 na beneficiaries ang matagumpay na nakatanggap ng libreng salamin sa mata sa kagandahang-loob ng Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Aurora, sa pangunguna ni Punonglalawigan Isidro P. Galban, sa pamamagitan ng Aurora Provincial Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO).

Ang inisyatibong ito ay patunay ng patuloy na pagsuporta at pagmamalasakit ng pamahalaang panlalawigan upang mapabuti ang kalidad ng pamumuhay at paningin ng ating mga kababayang may kapansanan.

LEGAL NA BATAYAN AT PROGRAMA:

Republic Act No. 10070 at RA 7277 (Magna Carta for Persons with Disabilities): Nag-aatas sa pagtatag ng PDAO sa bawat lalawigan at bayan upang maghatid ng mga programang pangkagalingan (welfare programs), kagamitang pantulong (assistive devices), at serbisyong pangkalusugan para sa mga PWD.

Para sa mga nagnanais ding makataggap o mag-apply, sundin lamang ang mga sumusunod na hakbang:

Magtungo sa PDAO Aurora: Bisitahin ang tanggapan ng PDAO sa Provincial Capitol o ang Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) sa inyong bayan.
Ihanda ang mga sumusunod na dokumento:

PWD ID (o Barangay Certificate of Indigency kung wala pa)

Pamahalaang Panlalawigan ng Aurora, Inilunsad ang Digital at AI Literacy Training para sa mga PWD.

BALER, Aurora — Upang palakasin ang kasanayan sa teknolohiya at isulong ang pangkalahatang oportunidad sa pagtatrabaho, opisyal nang inilunsad noong Setyembre 8 ang isang espesyal na pagsasanay sa information and communications technology (ICT) para sa sektor ng Persons with Disabilities (PWD) sa bayang ito.
Ang nasabing programang “ICT Skills Training on Empowering PWDs: Advancing Digital Literacy and Inclusive Productivity through Google Workspace, AI Tools and Cyberhygiene,” ay naglalayong tuldukan ang digital divide at ihanda ang PWD community para sa modernong digital workforce.

Pinangunahan ni Aurora Governor Isidro P. Galban ang ginanap na opening ceremony, kung saan binigyang-diin niya ang patuloy na suporta ng pamahalaang panlalawigan sa pagpapaunlad ng kakayahan ng mga PWD.

Dumalo rin sa aktibidad at nagpaabot ng suporta sina Baler SB Member at ICT Committee Chairman Edrik Louie Etcubañez, DICT Aurora Provincial Head Engr. Ravenal A. De Jesus, Provincial Disability Affairs Officer (PDAO) Richard G. Baoy, APFPWD President Abigael Ivy P. Tolentino, at Tech4ED Center Manager Rhodora M. Bernalte.

Isinakatuparan ang inisyatibo sa pakikipagtulungan ng Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Baler sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Mayor Rhett Ronan T. Angara, Pamahalaang ng Aurora sa tulong ni Governor Isidro P Galban, Provincial Dissability Affairs Officer Richard G Baoy at ng Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

Sa unang araw ng pagsasanay, sumabak agad ang mga kalahok sa pag-aaral ng batayang kasanayan sa computer gamit ang Microsoft Word para sa paggawa ng mga propesyonal na dokumento at Microsoft Excel para sa pagsasaayos ng datos at simpleng kalkulasyon. Pinangasiwaan ang unang modyul ng resource speaker na si Mr. Gerald M. Silen, ILCDB Provincial Focal mula sa DICT Zambales.
ipinagpatuloy ng mga scholar ang pagsasanay sa pag-aral ang paggamit ng cloud-based applications tulad ng Google Workspace, mga kasangkapang nakabatay sa Artificial Intelligence (AI), at mga alituntunin sa cyberhygiene.

BUILDING ACCESSIBLE AURORA: PDAO AND APFPWD ROLL OUT PROVINCIAL INITIATIVES FOR PWDs

BALER, AURORA — The Provincial Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) of Aurora, in partnership with the Aurora Provincial Federation of Persons with Disabilities in Aurora (APFPWD), rolled out its initiatives for the disability sector following the successful conduct of its Joint 3rd Quarter Meeting on September 7, 2026.

Presided over by Disability Affairs Officer Mr. Richard G. Baoy, the meeting brought together key officers and advocates to lay out crucial programs, organizational updates, and enforcement strategies aimed at championing the rights and welfare of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across the province.

Key Highlights and Official Updates:

PDAO Hotlines and Referrals Initiative: Ms. Aileen Gonzales presented the proposal for the PDAO Hotlines and Referrals program. Following an interactive open forum, the body approved the proposal in principle, with a requirement to deliver a more comprehensive implementation plan in the next meeting.

Official PDAO Aurora Logo Design: Proposed official logo designs were presented by Mr. Cherry Rose Romantico. The assembly agreed to defer final approval to give the presenter time to integrate the constructive feedback and recommendations raised by the participants.
Educational Assistance and Social Pension (SocPen): Mr. Baoy emphasized the critical need for orderly and prompt distribution of financial assistance. To guarantee smooth operations, Municipal Focal Persons were directed to submit complete and finalized beneficiary lists well ahead of time.
Disability Law Compliance Monitoring: In a major policy decision, the majority voted to proceed with provincial compliance monitoring. As part of this drive, compliant business establishments will be awarded "PWD-Friendly Signages" for strictly honoring the Magna Carta for Persons with Disabilities. Additionally, upcoming awareness campaigns will incorporate legal education to clarify the scope, coverage, and statutory limitations of PWD privileges under existing laws.
PDAO Website Presentation: The scheduled presentation regarding the official office website was postponed due to the absence of student representatives from the Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT).
PDAO Aurora and APFPWD remain steadfast in their shared commitment to ensuring equal opportunities, full accessibility, and proactive public service for all PWD constituents in the province.

PAAD Holds Successful 3rd Quarterly Meeting, Strengthens Programs for the Deaf Community in Aurora

BALER, Aurora | September 4, 2026

The Province of Aurora Association of the Deaf (PAAD) successfully conducted its 3rd Quarterly Meeting at the Capitol Grounds, Brgy. Suklayin, Baler, Aurora, bringing together Deaf leaders and members from different municipalities across the province.

The meeting was led by PAAD President Rommel Miemban with the support of PAAD Focal Person Cherry Rose I. Romantico. The gathering focused on strengthening the organization, updating membership records, and planning upcoming programs that promote inclusion and empowerment of the Deaf community in Aurora.

Among the major highlights of the meeting were the presentation of the official Provincial PAAD Master List, approval of the official PAAD Identification Card, discussion of Provincial Ordinance No. 644 on the rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the approval of a ₱50 monthly membership contribution to support the organization's operations.

PAAD also finalized its initial plans for the celebration of Deaf Awareness Month this November 2026, with participants from across Aurora Province. The organization also identified priority programs, including educational assistance for Deaf ALS learners, TESDA skills training, livelihood development, DOLE registration, DTI funding opportunities, and community activities such as Zumba, tree planting, and clean-up drives.

The Provincial Disability Affairs Office reaffirmed its commitment to continue working closely with PAAD in developing sustainable programs and ensuring that the voices and capacities of the Deaf community are recognized and supported.

PDAO Aurora Strengthens Disability Inclusion Through Advocacy Campaign in Baler

BALER, Aurora – August 27, 2026 — The Provincial Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) of Aurora, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Baler, successfully conducted the Persons with Disabilities (PWD) Advocacy Campaign on August 27, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon in the Municipality of Baler.

The advocacy campaign gathered 35 PWD leaders and members from various barangays of Baler to strengthen awareness of the rights, privileges, and government programs available to Persons with Disabilities. The activity also encouraged the active participation of the PWD sector in local governance and community development.

The program formally opened with a welcome message from Ms. Maricel Sanchez, Designated PDAO of Baler, who emphasized the importance of unity, empowerment, and continuous collaboration between PWD organizations and the local government in promoting an inclusive community.

In her message of support, Ms. Corazon T. Virrey, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer (MSWDO) of Baler, reaffirmed the Municipal Government's commitment to the PWD sector. She emphasized that Persons with Disabilities remain one of the priority sectors of the MSWDO and assured participants that the office will continue providing programs, services, and assistance that promote their welfare and development.

Messages of support were also delivered by Mr. Richard G. Baoy, Provincial Disability Affairs Officer of Aurora, and Hon. Rhett Ronan T. Angara Municipal Mayor of Baler through Attorney Kristne Elaine G Sindac . Both officials reiterated their commitment to protecting the rights of Persons with Disabilities, promoting inclusive governance, and ensuring equal access to government services, programs, and opportunities for every PWD in the municipality.

The advocacy campaign featured informative discussions from partner agencies on important topics, including PhilHealth YAKAP and Philhealth Gamot Programs for PWDs, Health Services for Persons with Disabilities, Rights of PWDs at the Barangay Level, the Role and Importance of PWD Associations as Accredited Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and the Programs and Services of the Provincial Government of Aurora through the Provincial Disability Affairs Office.

The activity served as a platform for empowering PWD leaders with knowledge about their legal rights, available benefits, and opportunities to become active partners in building a disability-inclusive and accessible community.
