The 𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗣 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝐂 (Affiliated) Unit successfully conducted its scheduled formation and training activities at the campus grounds, highlighting the 8𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐈𝐂 𝐂𝐀𝐃𝐄𝐓 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 and the Cadet Officers’ Qualifying Course (𝐂𝐎𝐐𝐂) 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠.

The activity commenced with 𝐐𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐃𝐄 𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 (𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄-𝐈𝐍) from 0800H to 0830H, ensuring accurate monitoring and accountability of all participating cadets and cadettes. This was followed by 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍, reinforcing discipline, uniformity, and proper military bearing among the trainees. The inspection was supervised by 𝐂𝐃𝐓 𝐂𝐏𝐓 𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐊𝐀 𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐈𝐒 Corps Commander, and 𝐂𝐃𝐓 𝐂𝐏𝐓 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐎𝐋𝐏𝐇 𝐕𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐀𝐍 2𝐂𝐋.

At 0830H, the Basic Cadets and COQC Aspirants proceeded with 𝐑𝐈𝐅𝐋𝐄 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐏𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐂𝐄 and 𝐅𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐈𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐙𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐌𝐀𝐍𝐔𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐒, aimed at enhancing their coordination, discipline, and mastery of fundamental military drill movements. The session also included preparation for the upcoming 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐍𝐘 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐋𝐋 further strengthening teamwork, leadership, and command ex*****on within the unit.

The training concluded with final instructions followed by 𝐐𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐃𝐄 𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 (𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄-𝐎𝐔𝐓) at 1140H, marking a productive training day that contributed to the continued development of discipline, preparedness among the cadets and cadettes.

The 𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗣 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖 (Affiliated) Unit successfully conducted its Saturday Formation alongside the Fifth Day of the Cadet Officers’ Qualifying Course (COQC) Training.

The formation commenced at 0800H, beginning with QR CODE ATTENDANCE VERIFICATION to ensure accountability, followed by inspection of cadets and the ex*****on of basic military commands aimed at reinforcing discipline, bearing, and unit cohesion. At 0840H, the COQC aspirants proceeded to Room 3 for their scheduled training while the basic cadets remained at the formation area to prepare for PASA MASID (PASS IN REVIEW) in preparation for the upcoming RAATI. Regular hydration breaks were strictly observed to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

The COQC training formally began at 0900H with a lecture delivered by 𝐒𝐠𝐭 𝐃𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐑 𝐎𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞 (𝐈𝐧𝐟) 𝐏𝐀 focusing on FOLLOWERSHIP 2, highlighting essential leadership qualities, responsibilities, and effective decision-making within a military environment.

Simultaneously, the basic cadets underwent RIFLE HANDLING ORIENTATION, PASS IN REVIEW DRILLS, and OVERVIEW OF MANUAL OF ARMS under the supervision of the training staff and ROTC Cadet Officers, ensuring proper ex*****on, discipline, and adherence to standard military procedures. All activities concluded at 1200H, marking a productive training day that significantly contributed to the enhancement of discipline, leadership competence, and overall military readiness of the cadets and cadettes of the 𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗣 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗖 Unit.

This was followed by a second instructional session at 1040H facilitated by 𝐂𝐩𝐥 𝐄𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐧 𝐁 𝐏𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥 𝐏𝐀 (𝐑𝐞𝐬) which centered on 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀, providing the aspirants with a clearer understanding of organizational roles and operational coordination at the battalion level.

Simultaneously, the basic cadets underwent rifle handling orientation and 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 and 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝘀 under the supervision of the Training Staff and ROTC Cadet Officers, ensuring proper ex*****on, discipline, and adherence to standard military procedures. All activities concluded at 1200H, marking a productive training day that contributed significantly to the enhancement of discipline, leadership competence, and overall military readiness of the cadets and cadettes of the USTP Balubal ROTC Unit.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | 𝐉𝐀𝐍𝐔𝐀𝐑𝐘 24, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) Balubal ROTC Unit (Affiliated) successfully conducted its scheduled ROTC Formation and Opening Ceremony with training activities for the Cadet Officer Qualifying Course (COQC) at the City Veterinarian’s Office, Balubal, Cagayan de Oro City. The activities were supervised by Sgt Don Mark R Olarte (Inf) PA and Sgt Kim Bryan H Cadusale PA (Res), assisted by the training staff Cpl Eldrin B Pimentel PA (Res) and Cpl Sheena Kaye Sombilon PA (Res), together with ROTC Officers Cdt Cpt Ericka Abanis, Corps Commander, and Cdt Cpt Randolph Villasan (2CL).

The activity began with formation and attendance checking to ensure accountability and proper organization of all cadets. Each platoon then proceeded with Patakda Kad, executing Liko-likoan and Panig-panigan, which demonstrated discipline, coordination, and proper ex*****on of commands. After a brief water break, platoons resumed activities and performed Pasa Masid, reinforcing alertness, discipline, and unity among the cadets.

At 0900H, the Opening Ceremony for the COQC officially commenced. The program began with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by Cdt Jasmine Rose N. Ellevera, followed by the Invocation led by Cdt Cpt Ericka Abanis. Thereafter, Sgt Don Mark R. Olarte (Inf) PA delivered the Welcome Remarks and presented the participants, emphasizing discipline and responsibility. The ROTC Coordinator, Engr. Reyn V. Hallazgo, delivered his message, encouraging cadets to uphold leadership, integrity, and professionalism. The Opening Ceremony concluded with the singing of “Pilipinas Kong Mahal,” followed by a short break.

The training proper proceeded with a lecture on the AFP Code of Ethics, facilitated by Cpl Eldrin B Pimentel PA (Res), which covered the rules and regulations of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, ethical conduct, and the responsibilities of AFP personnel. This was followed by a session on Military Leadership, led by Sgt Don Mark R Olarte (Inf) PA, emphasizing teamwork, decision-making, accountability, and service-oriented leadership.

After the completion of the training activities, platoons conducted attendance for out to ensure proper accountability of all cadets. A short rest period was given while awaiting dismissal, formally concluding the ROTC Formation.

The activities were executed in an orderly, disciplined, and professional manner, successfully achieving the objectives of the ROTC Formation and COQC. Cadet aspirants enhanced their knowledge, leadership skills, and understanding of military ethics, while all cadets were reminded to continuously uphold discipline, respect, obedience, and excellence in all ROTC activities.

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) Balubal ROTC (Affiliated) Unit successfully conducted its ROTC Management Information System (ROTCMIS) Account and Information Setup, Reorientation, and Reorganization for the Second Semester of Academic Year 2025–2026 on 17 January 2026 at the City Veterinarian’s Office, Balubal, Cagayan de Oro City.

The activity commenced at 0800H with the formation of cadets for bearing and uniform inspection. This activity aimed to re-establish discipline and proper military bearing among the cadets following the semester break.

At 0830H, the cadets were oriented on the Reserve Officer Training Corps Management Information System (ROTCMIS) by Cpl Eldrin B Pimentel PA (Res) along with Cdt Cpt Ericka Abanis Corps Commander. The orientation focused on familiarizing the cadets with the system's functions, particularly its use for attendance monitoring (QR code) and basic cadet information, ensuring transparency and accuracy in record-keeping.

At 0900H, the reorientation program formally began with a convocation ceremony, followed by the opening remarks of CPT HARRY T DE VILLA (RES) PA. He emphasized the importance of the activity in preparing the cadets for the upcoming semester and reinforcing discipline, responsibility, and readiness.

The discussion proper was initiated by Cpl Sadanel Princess Y Sabdul PA (Res) , who refreshed the cadets on the basic ROTC guidelines, roles, and expected conduct. This was followed by Cpl Sheena Kaye Sombilon PA (Res) , who discussed the ROTC policies and grading system, underscoring the value of integrity, discipline, and strict compliance with ROTC standards.

The program concluded at approximately 1000H with the closing remarks of Sgt Don Mark R Olarte (Inf) PA. He reminded the cadets to prepare themselves physically and mentally, as the second semester would be tough due to the upcoming Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI).

After the formal program, the cadets conducted a refresher on "Pasa Masid" to reinforce previously learned lessons. Adequate water breaks were provided to prevent dehydration due to the warm weather conditions.

The Day One training activities concluded at 1200H. Cadets were given proper instructions and were dismissed to return home safely, marking the successful completion of the activity.

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP)–Balubal ROTC Unit, under the supervision of CPT Harry T De Villa PA (Res), Commandant, and Sgt Don Mark R Olarte PA (Inf), Admin NCO, successfully conducted its Final Examination on October 11, 2025, held at the City Veterinary Office Grounds, with the facilitation of the training staff Sgt Kim Bryan H Cadusale PA (Res), Cpl Eugene Rey T Esperon Jr PA (Res), and
Cpl Eldrin B Pimentel PA (Res).

The examination tested not only the cadets’ knowledge but also their discipline and determination, proving that ROTC excellence requires strong mental readiness and commitment. A total strength of one hundred thirty-nine (139) cadets was recorded during the examination, with ninety-nine (99) present and forty (40) absent, all properly accounted for on the same day.

After the examination, at exactly 1000H, the cadets proceeded to the Formation of Troops, where drill activities such as Panig-Panigan and Liko-Likoan, led by Sgt Kim Bryan H Cadusale PA (Res) and Cpl Eugene Rey T Esperon Jr PA (Res), were conducted. These drills demonstrated the cadets proficiency in precision, coordination, and teamwork—essential elements of military discipline.

The Formation of Troops concluded at exactly 1200H, followed by attendance checking and final dismissal.

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines–Balubal ROTC Affiliated Unit conducted its scheduled formation at the City Veterinarian’s Office. The activity was supervised by Cpl Eugene Rey T Esperon Jr PA(Res) and Cpl Eldrin B Pimentel PA(Res), together with Corp's Commander Ericka Abanis 2cl, who ensured the proper guidance and instruction of the Basic Cadets.

The formation commenced at 0730H with the standard morning routine, including attendance and proper bearing inspection, to reinforce discipline, accountability, and readiness among the cadets At 0800H,After Cpl Eugene Esperon PA(Res) delivered a discussion on drills and ceremonies, underscoring their significance in fostering discipline, precision, and institutional pride.

Training formally began at 0830H, during which the training staff and aspirants instructed the Basic Cadets on the correct ex*****on of marching, pabalik-kad, and liko-likoan movements. Hydration breaks were provided to ensure cadet safety given the warm weather. The training session concluded at 1100H, with cadets acquiring new skills and insights from their senior leaders and aspirants.

The formation of troops concluded at 1200H, with attendance checking and the formal dismissal of the unit.
