Ang matatag na komunidad ay nabubuo sa pagkakaisa, pagbabantay, at sama-samang pananagutan.

Isinagawa ang 1st Quarter Joint Meetings ng Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC), Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC), at MDRRMO sa pangunguna ni Mayor Maria Theresa R. Peralta, kasama ang suporta ni Vice Mayor Philipp G. Peralta. Dinaluhan ito ng iba’t ibang lider at stakeholders upang lalo pang palakasin ang mga programa para sa kapayapaan at kaayusan, paigtingin ang kampanya kontra droga, at paghusayin ang kahandaan sa sakuna.

Sa tulong ng PNP, MDRRMO, at BFP, patuloy ang pagpapatupad ng mga hakbang upang masiguro ang kaligtasan ng publiko, lalo na ngayong nalalapit ang Semana Santa. Mula sa pagpapanatili ng kaayusan hanggang sa kahandaan sa anumang emergency, ipinapakita nila ang tunay na malasakit at serbisyo para sa komunidad.

Habang papalapit ang Semana Santa, tuloy-tuloy ang paghahanda upang masiguro ang isang matahimik, ligtas, at makabuluhang paggunita para sa lahat.

Sama-sama tayong umusad maging handa, maagap, at magkaisa sa paglilingkod sa komunidad.

Sa diwa ng bayanihan at malasakit, naging maayos, ligtas, at organisado ang buong aktibidad sa pamamagitan ng sama-samang pagtutulungan ng mga sumusunod:

At the break of dawn, the Municipality of Balungao demonstrated a strong commitment to gender-responsive and community-based empowerment initiatives as women from diverse sectors actively participated in a wellness and solidarity activity. By 5:00 AM, a Zumba session facilitated by Local Government Unit (LGU), municipal employees, BJMP Balungao District Jail
headed by JSUPT. RAY C. CABRADILLA and the Philippine National Police of Balungao, under the leadership of PMAJ Maria Theresa R. Meimban, served not only as a physical activity but also as a psychosocial support intervention promoting holistic well-being, social cohesion, and women’s empowerment. The activity symbolized resilience, collective strength, and the nurturing leadership reflective of the Babaylan spirit.

In the afternoon, at 1:00 PM, the activity transitioned into a capability-building and advocacy session aimed at enhancing awareness on women’s rights, protection mechanisms, and gender-responsive governance. Key topics included:

Republic Act 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act) – discussed by Patrolwoman Jerlen Ann F. Soriben, emphasizing legal remedies, protection orders, and the State’s mandate to safeguard women and children from abuse and exploitation.

Republic Act 11313 (Safe Spaces Act / Anti-Bastos Law) – presented by Danijean B. Ringor, focusing on the promotion of safe, inclusive, and harassment-free environments in public and private spaces.

Women-focused programs and services – delivered by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), highlighting protective services, crisis intervention, referral systems, and social protection programs aligned with DSWD mandates.

Gender and Development (GAD) mainstreaming and gender-responsive governance – articulated by GAD Focal Person Anthony Fe Mabalot, underscoring that empowering women is a development strategy and governance framework. He emphasized that inclusive participation of women strengthens families, enhances community resilience, and promotes sustainable local development.

Municipal Mayor Maria Theresa R. Peralta reinforced the importance of self-empowerment, agency, and leadership among women, encouraging every Filipina to embody the values of strength, compassion, and transformative leadership.

Vice Mayor Philipp G. Peralta affirmed the LGU’s commitment to advancing gender equality, upholding women’s rights, and ensuring equitable access to opportunities and resources.

Meanwhile, Sangguniang Bayan Member and Committee Chair on Family, Women, and Children, Gerry Guerzo Luna, expressed strong legislative support for women-centered policies and programs, recognizing women as key agents in family development, community building, and intergenerational empowerment.

Ang tagumpay ay hindi minamana at hindi rin ito basta ibinibigay kundi ito ay pinaghihirapan, pinaglalaanan ng luha at pawis, at higit sa lahat, pinaniniwalaan. Sa bawat pusong nangangarap, may laban na kailangang harapin at may takot na kailangang lampasan. Ngunit sa kabila ng lahat, ang tunay na tagumpay ay para sa mga taong may lakas ng loob na magsimula, kahit mahirap, kahit hindi sigurado.

Isang siglo ng lakas, pananampalataya, at walang kapantay na katatagan—ngayon ay buong galak nating ipinagdiriwang ang ika-100 kaarawan ni 𝐄𝐮𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐚 𝐔𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐦 ng Barangay San Raymundo, Balungao, Pangasinan.

Sa loob ng isang daang taon, hindi lamang siya naging saksi sa pagbabago ng panahon at siya ay naging haligi ng inspirasyon na patuloy na humuhubog sa bawat henerasyon. Ang kanyang buhay ay kwento ng tapang sa gitna ng pagsubok, pag-asa sa kabila ng paghihirap, at pagmamahal na walang hinihinging kapalit.

Kaisa sa makabuluhang pagdiriwang na ito si 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗮 𝗥. 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗮, na buong pusong nagbibigay-pugay at pagkilala sa isang buhay na tunay na huwaran ng katatagan at dignidad. Ang kanyang presensya ay sumisimbolo ng pasasalamat at pagkilala ng buong pamahalaang lokal sa napakahalagang ambag ni Ginang Umayam sa komunidad.

Siya ay patunay na ang tunay na lakas ay hindi nasusukat sa pisikal na anyo, kundi sa tibay ng puso at paninindigan. Ang kanyang mga yapak ay nag-iwan ng landas na puno ng aral, dignidad, at layuning nagbibigay-gabay sa marami.

Sa bawat taon na kanyang nilakbay, dala niya ang diwa ng isang mandirigmang hindi sumusuko, isang ilaw na patuloy na nagbibigay-liwanag sa komunidad, at isang pusong punong-puno ng malasakit.

Ang kanyang buhay ay hindi lamang isang paglalakbay keep ndi ito ay isang pamana. Isang paalala na ang bawat araw ay may pagkakataong magbigay-inspirasyon, maglingkod, at mag-iwan ng makabuluhang marka sa mundo.

PAGLILINAW SA PUBLIKO📣

Nais linawin ng DSWD ang mga katanungan tungkol sa mga kinakailangang identification card (ID) para sa pagtanggap ng Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens.

Patuloy na kinikilala at hinihikayat ng Kagawaran ang paggamit ng PhilSys-issued National ID bilang Primary ID. Para naman sa mga benepisyaryong wala pang National ID, mananatiling valid at tatanggapin pa rin ang iba pang government-issued IDs bilang Secondary ID.

Samantala, ang mga DSWD Field Offices ay aktibong nakikipag-ugnayan sa Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) para matulungan at gabayan ang lahat ng ating mga benepisyaryo na hindi pa rehistrado sa PhilSys. Layunin nito na matiyak na ang bawat Social Pensioner ay magkaroon ng kanilang sariling National ID para sa mas mabilis na serbisyo.

As part of the Women’s Month Celebration 2026, the Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC), under the leadership of LCPC Chairperson Mayor Maria Theresa R. Peralta, in coordination with Rajal-Angayan National High School headed by Principal Eduardo Q. Lagmay II, and the Philippine National Police (PNP) of Balungao, Pangasinan led by PMAJ Maria Theresa R. Meimban, Chief of Police successfully conducted an orientation on RA 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004) and RA 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997).

The orientation was facilitated by Patrolwoman Jerlen Ann F. Soriben, Chief WCPD PNCO who shared valuable knowledge with the students of Rajal Angayan National High School about the important provisions of these laws. The discussion highlighted the rights of women and children, the different forms of abuse and violence, and the legal protections available to victims. Through this activity, students were encouraged to become more aware, responsible, and proactive in standing up for their rights and supporting others who may be experiencing abuse.

More than just an orientation, the activity served as a platform for education, empowerment, and awareness, reminding the youth that every individual deserves to live in a community built on respect, dignity, equality, and safety. By equipping students with the right knowledge, the school and its partner agencies continue to strengthen their commitment to protecting and empowering the younger generation.

This meaningful initiative reflects the true spirit of Women’s Month 2026—celebrating the strength, resilience, and invaluable role of women in society while fostering a culture where violence has no place and every voice is heard and protected.
