Local Chief Executives (LCEs) of Nueva Vizcaya gathered in Ambaguio on June 03, 2026 for the 8th Regular Meeting of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Nueva Vizcaya Chapter, a monthly gathering aimed at coordinating, discussing, and aligning local governance priorities and development initiatives.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the presentation of Nueva Vizcaya State University’s (NVSU) accomplishments, ongoing initiatives, and future directions by University President Wilfredo A. Dumale Jr. and his delegation. In response, the LCEs also unanimously endorsed the reappointment of Mr. Dumale as NVSU President.
Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer (PSWDO) Flordelina Granada also presented the Rice Program under the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF), providing updates and clarification on its implementation and significance to local communities.
The meeting likewise tackled the rollout of the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) and its corresponding budgetary requirements. Updates were also reported by the LMP Chapter President regarding the Sand and Gravel Gratuitous Permits issued to the LGUs. While the GPs were in the name of the LGUs, the same were also used by private contractors without proper coordination with the permittees-local governments. The PENARO will be requested to provide clarifications and guidelines on the matter. Further, request for the renewal of the GPs will be submitted to the Honorable Governor. The Chapter also discussed the current list and status of mining applications in Nueva Vizcaya.
Through sustained dialogue and collaboration, the LMP Nueva Vizcaya Chapter continues to strengthen local governance and promote initiatives that contribute to the province’s inclusive and sustainable development.
