11 April 2022 | Fire Safety Seminar and Fire Drill Simulation Exercise
On 11 April 2022, BFP Banaybanay Fire Station personnel under the supervision of SFO4 Marcelino J Yara, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, conducted a Fire Safety Seminar and Fire Drill Simulation Exercise to the faculty, staff, parents and students of Mahayag Elementary School, Brgy. Mahayag, Banaybanay Davao Oriental.
The Fire Safety lectures that were facilitated covered the Triangle of Fire, Classification and Types of Fire, Familiarization of Parts and How to use a Fire Extinguisher.

🎆 Place covers on all Electrical Outlets.

🎆 Do not overload electrical outlets.

🎆 Replace electrical items that show signs of wear.

🎆 Use certified surge protectors and power strips.

🎆 Do not use extension cords to plug in appliances.

🎆 Keep your clothes dryer free of lint accumulation to avoid it becoming a fire hazard.

👩‍🚒 Eliminate Fire Hazards at Home.

👩‍🚒 Store quick-burning, flammable materials in designated locations away from ignition sources.

👩‍🚒 Avoid contaminating clothes with flammable liquids.

👩‍🚒 Keep passages and fire doors free of obstructions.

👩‍🚒 Dispose properly broken Christmas bulbs and ornaments, tangled string lights and tinsel. A frayed wire or broken bulb could create a spark that could easily start a fire.

👩‍🚒 Store holiday decorations in an indoor area with protection from moisture and temperature shifts.
