The Local Government Unit of Bangar, through the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) and in collaboration with key stakeholders, successfully conducted the “Inspired Governance and Narco-Free Integrity Through Training and Empowerment (IGNITE) for BADACs Training-Workshop” on April 29–30, 2026 at the Bangar Multipurpose Hall.

This two-day capacity-building initiative strengthened the knowledge, skills, and competencies of our Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADACs)—our first line of defense at the grassroots level. Participants, composed of Punong Barangays, Barangay Secretaries, and Sangguniang Kabataan Chairpersons from all component barangays, were equipped with the necessary tools to effectively implement anti-illegal drug programs and meet functionality requirements.

With 99 dedicated participants, this initiative reflects Bangar’s continued commitment to inspired governance and a narco-free community through training, collaboration, and empowerment.

𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐎𝐒𝐘

The Local Government Unit of Bangar, through the Local Youth Development Office, successfully conducted a Skills Training on Bread and Pastry Production for 35 Out-of-School Youth (OSY) from various barangays in the municipality.

Anchored on the goal of enhancing employability, the participants were equipped with essential knowledge and practical skills in bread and pastry production. The training was facilitated by Ms. Vannessa Fontanos Yee, a Bread and Pastry Production Trainer from the La Union Colleges of Science and Technology in Bauang, La Union.

To further support the participants in starting their livelihood, the LGU also provided financial assistance as starter capital.

LOOK: The Local Government Unit of Bangar, La Union, led by Mayor Joy Pinzon Merin, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, personally visited and presented a check amounting to One Hundred Thousand Pesos (₱100,000.00) to a living centenarian, Melecia N. Ramirez of Barangay Paratong Norte, Bangar, La Union.

This initiative supports the implementation of R.A. 10868, otherwise known as the “Centenarian Act of 2016.”
