Earlier today, the Department of Labor and Employment โ€“ Abra Field Office conducted its 1st Technical Advisory Visit (TAV) in the Municipality of Danglas.

A total of 68 participants from various establishments in the municipality attended the activity, showing strong support and commitment to promoting compliance with labor standards and workersโ€™ welfare.

The TAV serves as a developmental and preventive approach of the Office, providing orientations to both employers and employees on their rights and responsibilities in the workplace. Through this initiative, participants are guided on how to comply with labor laws and avoid possible violations related to labor issues.

Representatives from the Social Security System (SSS), one of the partner agencies in the activity, also discussed their programs and services to further increase awareness among participants regarding social protection and benefits available to workers.

The Department of Labor and Employment โ€“ Abra Field Office actively participated in the two-day Serbisyo Caravan conducted in Barangays Dumagas and Bao-yan in Boliney on May 11โ€“12, 2026, respectively.

Various government agencies joined the activity to deliver their respective programs and services, as well as to identify and address the issues and concerns of the communities.

The activity is in line with the Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, which aims to bring government services closer to the people and strengthen community engagement through responsive and inclusive governance.

Labor Day Boost: DOLE-Abra Releases Livelihood Aid and Wages to Hundreds of Beneficiaries

In celebration of Labor Day, the Department of Labor and Employment โ€“ Abra Field Office awarded symbolic checks to two associations. The San Marcial Farmers Association received livelihood assistance amounting to โ‚ฑ1,604,500, while the Barangay Ocup Rural Improvement Club received โ‚ฑ1,651,200.

The Local Government Unit of Pidigan likewise received funding under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers program, totaling โ‚ฑ5,278,000 for the benefit of 650 workers.

Meanwhile, 97 interns under the Government Internship Program were also provided with their wages, amounting to a total of โ‚ฑ291,636.46.

Lastly, livelihood kits were awarded to the Isit Farmers Association from the Local Government Unit of Dolores, with assistance amounting to โ‚ฑ1,352,700.

The awarding program was led by Department of Labor and Employment โ€“ Abra Provincial Head Christopher Tugadi, who emphasized the agencyโ€™s continued commitment to supporting workers, strengthening livelihoods, and promoting inclusive employment opportunities across the province.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) โ€“ Abra Field Office successfully convened its 1st Quarter Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Meeting on April 29โ€“30, 2026 at Cinque Amore Resort.

The two-day activity served as an avenue for PESO Managers across the province to strengthen coordination, enhance program implementation, and stay updated on key employment facilitation initiatives.

On Day 1, TESDA Abra Provincial Director, Mr. Belmar Angoling, shared valuable insights on the agencyโ€™s programs and services, with focus on the Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET). The discussion highlighted the importance of EBET in strengthening industry partnerships and equipping jobseekers with relevant skillsโ€”an essential topic for PESO Managers in their role as CTEC Officers in their respective LGUs.

Day 2 featured a series of informative discussions. Ms. Grace Bandayrel, DILEEP Focal Person, presented updates on the new Department Order, ensuring PESOs are aligned with current policies and guidelines. This was followed by Ms. Jasmin Bumogas, who addressed common issues causing delays in the processing of SPES applications, emphasizing the need for efficiency and compliance.

To cap off the activity, Mr. Herald Bitaga conducted an orientation on PhilJobNet and the PESO Employment Information System (PEIS), equipping participants with tools to improve reporting and data management.

Mr. Christopher Tugadi, Head of DOLE-Abra, was also present throughout the activity, actively assisting and providing guidance during the discussions.

The meeting reaffirmed DOLE Abraโ€™s commitment to empowering PESOs as vital partners in delivering responsive and effective employment services to the people of Abra.

Earlier today,

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Abra Field Office joined the ceremonial turnover of the Farm Mechanization and Rental Services project awarded to the Poblacion Tayum Rice and Corn Farmers Association, composed of 102 members.

Mayor Glen Eduarte expressed his gratitude to DOLE for its continued support, saying, โ€œDakkel a pagyamanan ti kaadda ti DOLE para iti kastoy a bendisyon,โ€ highlighting the agencyโ€™s vital role in supporting local farmers.

DOLE Abra Office Head Mr. Christopher B. Tugadi emphasized that the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program aims not only to generate income but also to create employment opportunities, reinforcing its long-term impact on community development.

Meanwhile, Mr. Delfin Casia, President of the association, expressed his sincere appreciation for the assistance, recognizing its significant contribution to their livelihood and collective growth.

This turnover marks another milestone in strengthening agricultural productivity and empowering farmers in Tayum, paving the way for sustainable livelihood and rural development through DOLE Abraโ€™s continued support.
