[PALAYAN IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED]
According to the DOST-PAGASA TROPICAL CYCLONE BULLETIN NR. 16, issued at 08:00 AM, November 17, 2024, Super Typhoon “PEPITO” passes over the waters North of Calaguas Islands and is now over the sea East of Quezon. The Province of Abra is raised under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 3.
In light of these adverse weather conditions, we hereby announce the TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PALAYAN PUBLIC PARK. Furthermore, all tourism activities and river-related operations within our municipality will be suspended until further notice.
This precautionary measure has been undertaken to ensure public safety due to the forecasted storm which indicates that we may experience gusty winds and heavy rainfall, which presents significant risks to both visitors and the surrounding environment.
CLOSURE DETAILS:
• Effective Date: 17 November 2024
• Duration: Until deemed safe by local authorities
• Affected Areas: Palayan Public Park, all nearby tourist spots, and all river activities, including swimming, fishing, and other related operations.
SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Stay Indoors: Please limit outdoor activities during the onslaught of the typhoon.
2. Avoid River Areas: Stay away from riverbanks and other water bodies until conditions improve.
3. Stay Informed: Be updated with local weather reports and advisories.
4. Follow Safety Protocols: Adhere to any local government instructions regarding emergency procedures.
