The Department of Science and TechnologyโCordillera Administrative Region (DOST-CAR) extends its greetings to the outstanding students who have successfully qualified for the 2026 DOST-Science Education Institute (SEI) S&T Undergraduate Scholarship Programs. The 148 qualifiers are part of the 8,500 qualifiers nationwide who emerged from a historic milestone for one of the countryโs most competitive scholarship programs. This year, a record-breaking 97,617 applicants took the qualifying examinations held on February 21-22 and March 7-8, 2026, across 222 testing centers nationwide.
The qualifiers from CAR will be classified under two distinct scholarship tracks based on specialization and socio-economic criteria. The Merit Scholarship Program, under Republic Act No. 2067, is awarded to students demonstrating a high aptitude in science and mathematics. Meanwhile, the RA No. 7687 Scholarship Program, also known as the โScience and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994โ, is awarded to talented and deserving students whose familiesโ socio-economic status does not exceed the set cut-off values of certain indicators. Qualifiers under the RA 7687 program must pursue priority fields of study in the basic sciences, engineering, other applied sciences, and science and mathematics teaching.
Once the regional qualifiers formally avail of the scholarship, they will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package designed to support them throughout their academic journey. During the regular academic year, scholars will receive a Php 8,000 monthly living allowance, a Php 10,000 learning materials and connectivity allowance per academic year, a Php 10,000 thesis allowance, transportation assistance, and a Php 1,000 graduation allowance. Scholars studying in private Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are also given up to a Php 40,000 tuition fee subsidy per academic year. For the midyear term, they are entitled to receive a Php 8,000 monthly living allowance, a Php 2,000 learning materials and connectivity allowance, and up to a Php 10,000 tuition fee subsidy for those in private HEIs. Additionally, all scholars are covered by premium accident and health insurance.
The qualifiers will receive a notice of award through email, stating the date and venue of the orientation and signing of the scholarship agreement, and the requirements to be submitted.
Qualifiers with an asterisk (*) in their names need to resubmit their lacking requirements as stated in their notice of award.
