| DTI ABRA JOINS TESDA WORLD CAFƉ OF OPPORTUNITIES JOB FAIR

Bangued, Abra – August 25, 2026 — The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) led the World CafĆ© of Opportunities (WCO) Job Fair at the Abra Sports Complex as part of its 32nd TESDA Anniversary and the observance of National Tech-Voc Day.

The event was organized in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Public Employment Service Office (PESO), and other government and private sector partners, including the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). It gathered job seekers and organizations offering employment and entrepreneurship opportunities, fostering collaboration among agencies to expand livelihood options for AbreƱos.

During the activity, DTI Abra provided information on starting and growing a business, emphasizing entrepreneurship, skills development through Google Career Certificates on Coursera, and access to finance. The agency also promoted the Youth Enterprise Fund (YEF) financing window of Small Business Corporation (SB Corp) to support young entrepreneurs interested in starting or expanding their businesses.

The job fair underscored the importance of equipping AbreƱos with diverse pathways to earn a living—whether through employment, skills enhancement, or entrepreneurship. Participants gained valuable insights into available programs and opportunities that can help them build sustainable livelihoods.

| SAAD ABRA AND DTI ABRA PROMOTE ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET AMONG LOCAL AGRI-PRODUCERS

Bangued, Abra – August 25, 2026 — The Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD)–Abra, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Abra, successfully conducted a Training on Entrepreneurial Mindset for local agri-producers in two separate batches held on August 4 and August 25, 2026 at Queensky Hotel, Calaba, Bangued, Abra.

The training, titled ā€œUnderstanding an Entrepreneurial Mindset and Recognizing Business Opportunities,ā€ aimed to help participants view agriculture not only as a source of livelihood but also as a potential business venture. Through interactive discussions and practical exercises, participants learned how to identify market needs, maximize available resources, and transform agricultural products into viable business opportunities.

The sessions encouraged agri-producers to explore value-adding strategies and other innovative approaches to enhance the market potential of their products. By fostering an entrepreneurial mindset, the activity guided participants toward building enterprises around what they grow and make, rather than focusing solely on production.

This initiative reflects the continuing partnership between SAAD Abra and DTI Abra in empowering local producers to develop their entrepreneurial skills and build sustainable livelihoods. The training outcomes demonstrated participants’ increased awareness of business opportunities within the agricultural sector and their readiness to apply entrepreneurial principles in their respective communities.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Abra and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)-Abra, successfully conducted a one-day Business Expense Savings Training (BEST) Game for the officers and members of the Ba-ug Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Brgy. Ba-ug, San Juan, Abra, on August 27, 2026, as part of the Village-Level Farm-Focused Enterprise Development (VLFED) Project under the DAR-DTI-DOST Synchronization Program.

The activity aimed to provide Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) with a dynamic and interactive learning environment. Through the simulation game, participants gained a deeper understanding of the business cycle, including managing cash inflows from sales, cash outflows for costs and expenses, and cash returned to the business. The activity also emphasized essential business skills such as record-keeping, marketing, inventory management, cost analysis, negotiation, payment processing, and business planning.

A comprehensive simulation kit featuring play money, transaction sheets, and record-keeping tools was utilized to create a realistic business environment and reinforce participants’ practical understanding through hands-on application.

SSF Regional Technical Committee Holds Project Evaluation Meeting

The Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Regional Technical Committee conducted an evaluation meeting to review various proposed and ongoing SSF projects in Abra.

The projects presented included the proposed Chichacorn Processing SSF Project of Baug Farmers Multipurpose Cooperative, the SSF Coffee Processing Project of ADTEMPCO, which was proposed for transfer, and the Loomweaving Upgrading Projects of Bulbulala Farmers and Loomweavers Association (BFLA) and Loomweavers and Farmers Association of Sitio Callaguip (LFASC).

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the status and needs of the beneficiary organizations and discuss the proposed interventions.

The evaluation is part of the SSF Program’s continuing efforts to ensure that proposed and existing interventions are properly assessed and responsive to the needs of MSMEs and community-based enterprises.

DTI Abra Keeps Watch to Protect Consumers

DTI–Abra continues to monitor businesses across the province to help ensure that consumers get fair prices, adequate supply, and honest transactions.

On August 26, 2026, the DTI–Abra monitoring team conducted price and supply monitoring of basic necessities and prime commodities (BNPCs) and market surveillance in the municipalities of Manabo and Bucay, covering 43 business establishments.

The activity checked compliance with Fair Trade Laws and helped ensure that prices are properly displayed, products are sold fairly, and consumers are given the information they need when making purchases.

Through regular monitoring and market surveillance, DTI–Abra remains committed to protecting consumers while promoting fair and responsible business practices across the province.

SAAD Abra and DTI Abra Promote Entrepreneurial Mindset

The Special Area for Agricultural Development (SAAD)–Abra, in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Abra, conducted a Training on Entrepreneurial Mindset for local agri-producers.
