SAF Tactical Support Leads to Arrest of Two PSR-Listed CTG Members in Surigao del Sur

Surigao Del Sur – On August 22, 2026, personnel from 1SAB, SAF provided tactical support to Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, Surigao del Sur Provincial Field Unit and other PNP units in a joint counterinsurgency operation that resulted in the successful arrest of a.k.a. Jr/James, PSR-listed CTG Member under the Sub-Regional Sentro de Grabidad, Sub-Regional Committee Westland, Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee for 1st Quarter CY 2026 and a.k.a. Par/May/Hope/Tm, PSR-listed, Vice Squad Leader under Sub-Regional Sentro de Grabidad, Sub-Regional Committee Westland, North Easter Mindanao Regional Committee for 1st Quarter CY 2026 in Brgy. Tagongon, Tagbina, Surigao Del Sur.

The operation against a.k.a. Jr/James was conducted by virtue of several Warrants of Arrest with Criminal Case No. 15707 for violation of R.A. 11479 (Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020) issued by RTC, Branch 32, 10th Judicial Region, San Jose, Surigao del Norte dated May 17, 2022; Criminal Case No. 15719 for violation of R.A. 9851 (Crime against International Humanitarian Law, Genocide and Other Crimes against Humanity) issued by RTC, Branch 29, 10th Judicial Region, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte dated January 13, 2026; Criminal Case No. C-2749 for Frustrated Murder, and Criminal Case No. C-2750 for Multiple Attempted Murder both issued by RTC, Branch 41, 11th Judicial Region, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur dated October 18, 2021.

Meanwhile, a.k.a. Par/May/Hope/Tm was arrested by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest with Criminal Case No. 7320-T for Direct Assault with Attempted Homicide issued by MCTC, 11th Judicial Region, Tago-San Miguel, Surigao del Sur dated June 29, 2026.

CIDG Surigao del Sur PFU took custody of the arrested person for documentation and proper disposition.

The successful operation highlights the continued commitment of the SAF and other PNP units to strengthen inter-unit cooperation and sustain focused law enforcement efforts in support of peace and security in communities affected by armed conflict.

Another Successful SAF-Supported Facilitation of Surrender to a CTG Member in Bukidnon

Bukidnon – On August 26, 2026, personnel from 1SAB, SAF provided tactical support to 1003rd Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10 and other PNP units during the facilitation of the voluntary surrender of a.k.a. Math/Saudi, a PSR-listed CTG member under Squad 2, Platoon Pulang Baganing Yunit, dismantled Guerilla Front 89, Sub-Regional Committee for 4th Quarter CY 2020 in Brgy. Halapitan, San Fernando, Bukidnon.

Upon his surrender, he turned over one improvised 5.56mm revolver with four rounds of ammunition. He is currently undergoing documentation and processing for possible enrolment in the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

The surrender highlights the continued efforts of the PNP in encouraging CTG members to return to the fold of the law through peaceful and lawful means.
