From stylish hand bags to sturdy backpacks, the hope-inspired products are one of the sources of income of the PDLs despite being in the correctional facility.

The basket and bayong weaving is an initiative supported by the DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program in partnership with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). It aims to help PDLs develop skills, earn some money, and also to make their time in jail more productive.

π†π”π‹π€π˜π€π 𝐒𝐀 ππˆπˆπ“π€π | BJMP personnel at the Bucay District Jail find alternative food source with their urban gardening program.

The Hapag 2.0 uses free spaces inside jail facilities to grow vegetables and other crops.

Aside from being an additional food source, the upkeep of the garden also serves as another activity to keep Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) in the correctional facility busy.

Nela Georgina Domingo and Honeyrose KC Arias of the PDOHO also encouraged consumers to always check the expiration date of the items they purchase.

They also advised AbreΓ±os to ask the pharmacist of the dosage and how to take medicines to maximize the effectiveness of the drug.
