PTC-Banna Successfully Concludes 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration!

In observance of Presidential Proclamation No. 227 s. 1988, R.A. 6949, and TESDA Memorandum No. 084 S. 2026, the Provincial Training Center – Banna, Ilocos Norte, led by Center Administrator Engr. Irvin D. Tolentino, actively participated in the 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration throughout March 2026.

Highlights of Activities:
• Advocacy Campaign: Employees displayed the NWMC banner and shared official logo on social media.
• Purple Thursdays: Staff wore official purple shirts every Thursday and participated in Zumba activities at 3:00 PM.
• Disaster Preparedness: Personnel joined the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill and facilitated a community drill.
• Women’s Leadership: GAD Focal Ms. Diana Janice T. Gubot attended the TESDA Central Office webinar “Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas” led by DDG Rosanna A. Urdaneta.
• Community Engagement: A Bookkeeping trainer participated in a Blood Letting activity.
• Skills Training: Conducted institution-based trainings on Organic Agriculture Production NC II in Laoag City and Adams, Bookkeeping NC III in Bangui, and community-based trainings on organic farming practices for 4-H Club members in Laoag City.
PTC-Banna extends its gratitude to all stakeholders for their support. We remain committed to empowering women through quality technical-vocational education and training.

Happening Now: TESDA PTC Banna Inauguration & Blessing Ceremony.

The inauguration and blessing ceremony of the TESDA Provincial Training Center (PTC) in Crispina, Banna, Ilocos Norte, is taking place today March 24, 2026, at 9:30 AM. The event marks the official opening and blessing of the new PTC‑Banna building, aimed at boosting technical education and skills development in the region.

The ceremony features a well‑orchestrated program that showcased community and government collaboration. The new PTC‑Banna is expected to expand access to quality technical education, provide industry‑relevant training, and generate skilled workers for local industries, thereby boosting employment.

The project aligns with TESDA’s mission to enhance vocational training infrastructure and address regional skill gaps, fostering sustainable development in Ilocos Norte.

𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 & 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭!
In its continuing commitment to support industry growth and skills development, TESDA Ilocos Norte Provincial Director Dir. Sharon Sinlao Estigoy led a significant visit to the Municipality of Vintar, Ilocos Norte, focusing on the Abel Weaving and Abel Shoes Processing Facility — a thriving center of Ilocos Norte’s creative textile industry.
The team conducted a thorough inspection of the facility’s status, operations, and potential areas for training enhancement — a key step in TESDA’s initiative to standardize training operations in partnership with industry stakeholders.
With strong leadership of Hon. Richard A. Degala- Municipality of Vintar Mayor, the local creative industry has continued to grow, drawing support from various national government agencies and partner stakeholders.
Among the major breakthroughs is the establishment of the Regional Yarn Processing and Innovation Center (RYPIC), provided through the support of Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI). This facility now enables the production of yarn locally — making the sector more self-sustaining and empowering communities to maximize value from local raw materials.
The visit was also joined by Engr. Irvin Tolentino- Center Administrator of Provincial Training Center - Banna (PTC-Banna), to inspect and benchmark the industry’s progress and explore formal collaboration with key industry players and the LGU. This is especially significant since PTC-Banna has program registration in Handloom Weaving (Upright) NC II, aimed at standardizing, promoting, and building manpower in this vital sector.
TESDA Ilocos Norte continues to champion convergence with partner stakeholders to sustain and elevate local industries — turning tradition into opportunity and skills into sustainable livelihoods.
