UNIVERSITY ADVISORY
In the wake of Typhoon Tinoโs devastating impact on the Cebu community, Cebu Technological University (CTU) President Dr. Joseph C. Pepito emphasized that the immediate priority of the institution is the safety, well-being, and sustained recovery of every member of the CebuTech family.
The University acknowledges the profound challenges being faced by many, including damage to homes and power and connectivity outages affecting students, faculty, and staff.
To allow personnel and students the necessary time to address immediate personal and family needs and ensure safety, the University announced that all campus operations will shift to a Work-From-Home (WFH) arrangement from November 5 (Wednesday) through November 9, 2025 (Sunday).
Campus Directors have been authorized to mobilize only critical personnel needed to secure facilities, assess damages, and carry out essential maintenance and recovery tasks. The University emphasized that the safety and welfare of these teams must remain the foremost consideration when requiring on-site work.
Faculty members are also urged to exercise utmost empathy and flexibility in conducting classes. While both synchronous and asynchronous modes may be utilized, instructors are reminded to be considerate of students affected by power interruptions, unstable connectivity, or typhoon-related difficulties.
The University reiterated that no student should be penalized for delays arising from such circumstances, emphasizing that the focus should remain on learning continuity rather than strict adherence to deadlines.
In light of the ongoing recovery efforts, all celebratory activities for CebuTechโs 16th Anniversary are indefinitely deferred. The University highlighted that the current focus must shift from celebration to collective support and recovery.
However, CebuTech clarified that critical institutional activities, such as scheduled Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signings, will proceed as these engagements are vital for future planning and external commitments.
