Keeping our community clean, one scheduled pickup at a time! 🗓️✨

Today, October 2, 2026, the Local Government Unit of Barobo headed by our Municipal Mayor Ronito L. Martizano through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office under the Ecological Solid Waste Management (ESWM) section in coordination with the Barangay Local Government Unit of Poblacion successfully conducted an information dissemination campaign to share the updated solid waste collection schedule with within the Barangay Poblacion particularly in the establishment areas.

Ensuring that everyone knows the right days and times for garbage pickup is a major step toward a cleaner, healthier, and more organized neighborhood.

Proper waste management starts with being informed. By syncing our disposal routines with the official collection times, we can prevent overflowing bins, keep stray animals out of the trash, and make our streets much more pleasant for everyone.

Thank you to everyone who came out, listened, and grabbed a schedule flyer. Let us continue to cooperate by disposing your waste at the right schedule. Let's work together to keep our community beautiful! 💚🌎

SMALL WATERSHED MANAGEMENT PLAN (SWMP) WORKSHOP – BARANGAY TAMBIS

Successfully concluded the Small Watershed Management Plan (SWMP) Workshop for Barangay Tambis, held at the Barangay gym, Tambis, Barobo, Surigao del Sur.

The workshop provided an avenue for stakeholders to assess the current condition of the watershed, identify key issues and concerns, and develop appropriate strategies and action plans for its protection, conservation, and sustainable management.

The activity was conducted with the support of Municipal Mayor Hon. Ronito L. Martizano, with the valuable guidance of our resource speaker, For. Septianne Rose P. Moreno.

Our sincere appreciation to the Academe, BLGU Tambis, BAMMOA, Purok Leaders,and all participants for their active participation, valuable inputs, and support throughout the workshop. 🌱🤝

🌊 Making waves of change, together!

On behalf of the Local Government Unit of Barobo headed by our Municipal Mayor Ronito L. Martizano, our deepest gratitude and highest appreciation to all the all the participants who actively participated in this year's International Coastal Cleanup Day conducted last September 18, 2026 at Bogac Cold Spring, Barangay Poblacion, Barobo Surigao del Sur and for the participation of the Barangays during the simultaneous coastal clean-up activity conducted on September 19, 2026 in their respective area of responsibilities.

Through your hard work, unity, and shared commitment to environmental stewardship, we successfully cleared tons of marine debris and restored the natural beauty of our coastlines.

You have proven once again that when our communities unite, we can protect our precious marine life and secure a cleaner, greener future for the next generation of Barobohanons.

Steering Towards a Cleaner, Greener Municipality! 🌿♻️

On September 21, 2026, the Local Government Unit of Barobo through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office under the Ecological Solid Waste Management Section successfully concluded the 2nd Quarter Ecological Solid Waste Management (ESWM) Board Meeting at Kvenz Place, Barangay Poblacion, Barobo Surigao del Sur.

The meeting productively presided over by our Municipal Mayor Ronito L. Martizano together with the Sangguniang Bayan Chairperson on Environment Robert Luis Avila III, all concerned national and local offices and environmental stakeholders who are part of the Board Members gathered to review our current waste management strategies, evaluate solid waste compliance across all sectors, and map out innovative approaches to reduce plastic waste and promote community-wide recycling and clean-up drive activities.

Key highlights of the meeting included:

1. Presentation of the ESWM Accompishment Report
2. Proposed Amendments of the existing Municipal ESWM Ordinances
3. Updates of ESWM current projects and programs particularly on the construction of Sanitary Landfill, Power Energinization of the Municipal Eco-Park, construction of Eco-Park Guard House and Control Point and for the annual Clean and Green Evaluation.

With the strong leadership of our Municipal Mayor and the active cooperation of every citizen, we remain steadfast in our commitment to sustainable development and environmental stewardship.

MUNICIPAL ARBOR DAY 2026.

On September 4, 2026, the Municipality of Barobo conducted its Municipal Arbor Day Tree Planting Activity at the Eco-Park, Barangay San Vicente, in celebration of Arbor Day, which is observed every first Friday of September pursuant to Republic Act No. 10176, otherwise known as the “Arbor Day Act of 2012.”

Under the leadership of Hon. Ronito L. Martizano, Municipal Mayor, the Municipality of Barobo continues to support initiatives that promote environmental conservation and the protection of our natural resources.

Our heartfelt appreciation to the National Government Offices, LGU Barobo personnel, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), and the participating barangays -Barangay Bahi, Barangay San Jose, Barangay Tambis, Barangay Sua, Barangay Wakat, and Barangay San Roque for their active participation and cooperation.

Special appreciation to Hon. SB Member Nancy Silva for joining the activity. Her participation also highlighted our celebration of World Tourism Month, reminding us of the important connection between a healthy environment and sustainable tourism. 🌿

Mga example niini sama sa mga sa salin na pagkaon, bagal sa itlog, kabhang sa dagat, panit sa prutas ug gulay, dahon, ug mga nangatagak nga sanga (pero mas maayo ug inyoha kining ibutang sa compost pit arun mahimong fertilizer).

RESIDUAL/DILI NA MAGAMIT na basura.
Kini sama sa mga sachet sa shampoo, candy wrapper, cellophane sa mga minudo, mga diaper ug napkins, ginamit na mga sudlanan sa pagkaon sama sa paperplates ug uban pa.

-HUWEBES
RECYCLABLE o mga klase na mga basura nga maresiklo ug pwede pa mabaligya.
Kini sama sa Plastik nga botelya, lata sa sardinas, papel, karton, bakal ug uban pa.

-DOMINGO
SPECIAL/DELIKADO nga mga Basora.
Kini sama sa mga Pundido nga suga, daan nga baterya, spray cans, ug mga guba nga galamitong elektrikal, dili lakip niini ang mga special waste nga gikan sa mga clinic ug sa mga hospital.

IMPORTANTENG PAHINUMDUM:
ipagawas lamang ang mga basura sa saktong adlaw ug sa klase na basura sa inyong matag Collection Point sa inyong Purok.

Magsugod ang pagkolekta sa basura sa may alas singko (5:00 am) sa buntag ang takna, gi-awhag ang tanan nga dili ipagawas ang basura sa Gabie para malikayan ang panghilabot sa mga mananap niini.

Ang mga basura nga wala nabulag og tarong Dili kuhaon sa atong mga garbage collectors.

Gamita ang saktong sudlanan, garbage bag o sako aron malikayan ang pagka gisi ug pagkatag.

Gipahinumduman usab nga ipadayon ang pagmentinar sa kahinlo sa ilang mga tungod sa panimalay ug sa ilang mga establisyemento.

Adunay ipatukar na music nga maoy mahimong tima ilhan nga naa na ang Garbage Compactor.

Palihog sa pagtuman niini nga patakaran para sa kaayohan sa atong komunidad ug sa atong kalikopan.

July 14, 2026 | Fauna and Flora Assessment 🌿🦋

Under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Ronito L. Martizano, the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of Barobo, together with the On-the-Job Trainees (OJTs) from Caraga State University (CSU) and North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU)–Lianga, conducted a Fauna and Flora Assessment at Tagabaka Falls, Brgy. Tambis, Barobo, Surigao del Sur, in preparation for the upcoming Assessment and Management Planning activity.

The activity was led by For. Danilo Joseph A. Galigao, Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer (MENRO), and Ms. Coleen Mae Guntiñas, Conservation and Development Focal Person, with the active participation and support of the Barangay Officials of Brgy. Tambis.

The assessment aimed to document the area’s flora and fauna and gather baseline information that will serve as an important reference in the formulation of the site’s management plan. This initiative reflects our shared commitment to biodiversity conservation and the sustainable management of Tagabaka Falls.

Together, we continue to protect and preserve our natural heritage for future generations. 💚🌿

Growing Resilience, Nourishing Communities 🌿

Under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Ronito L. Martizano, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Barobo, through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), successfully conducted a Tree Growing Activity at the Municipal Eco-Park, Barangay San Vicente, Barobo, Surigao del Sur, in celebration of the National Disaster Resilience Month and Nutrition Month 2026.

A total of 65 participants joined the activity and planted 100 tree seedlings, demonstrating a shared commitment to environmental conservation, disaster resilience, and a healthier community.

The activity was attended by SB Member Hon. Nancy P. Silva, Chairperson on Tourism, together with representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP)–Barobo, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)–Barobo, 1301st Maneuver Company, Philippine Coast Guard Sub-Station Barobo, Municipal Nutrition Action Office (MNAO), LGU Tourism Office, and the Barangay Officials of San Vicente, Barobo.

Through collective action, we continue to strengthen our commitment to protecting our environment, reducing disaster risks, and creating a greener, healthier, and more resilient Barobo for future generations.

Together, we grow trees, strengthen communities, and build resilience. 💚🌳
