On May 31, 2024, DTI-Surigao del Sur, through Negosyo Centre Barobo, conducted a Pricing and Costing Seminar, which was attended by 25 micro enterprises located in Barangay Poblacion, Lianga, Surigao del Sur. The purpose of the seminar is to share knowledge with participants on the value of accurately pricing and costing their goods.

The DTI's invitation to participate in this activity was much appreciated by the attendees.

Today, April 26, 2024, 27 micro enterprises in Barangay Poblacion, Barobo, Surigao del Sur participated Pricing and Costing Seminar conducted by DTI-Surigao del Sur through Negosyo Center Barobo. The goal of the seminar is to discuss with attendees the importance of proper pricing and costing of their products.

STIDS Rosamea L. Bautista of the Consumer Protection Division also has consumer advocacy to raise consumer understanding of their rights and obligations.

A store management seminar was conducted by Negosyo Center Barobo for 25 MSMEs located in Barangay Poblacion, Tagbina, Surigao del Sur today April 22, 2024. The participants acquired efficient methods and strategies for overseeing day-to-day shop operations with the goal of optimising their working capital.

The participants were thankful to DTI for inviting them to this activity. One sari-sari store owner commented, “Thank you DTI sa pag hisgot kung unsaon pag manage among tindahan ug pag discuss sa mga katungod namu bilang konsumante”

In celebration of MSME Week, Negosyo Center Barobo conducted Food Safety Awareness and Packaging and Labelling Seminar to 15 new and existing food producer MSMEs from the Municipality of Lianga and Barobo on 22 July 2022 at Terraza Viktoria Lodge, Poblacion, Barobo, Surigao del.Sur.

Trade and Industry Development Specialist, Mr. Leo Froilan M. Duero facilitated the seminar which aimed to improve the product reach through proper product packaging and labeling and to improve the quality of product by proper handling, hygiene and food safety.

The participants were grateful to DTI for this initiative. “Very informative. Dugang knowledge para sa amo food producers para mas mo improve ang quality saamo products”, one of the participants commented.

DTI Surigao del Sur, through Negosyo Center Barobo, launched the Livelihood Seeding Program - Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay on 18 July 2022 in Barangay Sua, Barobo, SdS where 61 MSMEs and potential entrepreneurs were present. Hon. Pedro N. Sombrio officially opened the program and expressed his support and appreciation to DTI for this initiative. In line with said activity, Senior Business Counselor April Joy R. Sipares presented the DTI programs and services and conducted the Entrepreneurial Awareness Seminar to the participants.

One of the participants commented, “Salamat nga mianhi ang taga DTI aron sa pagpahibalo kanamo about sa negosyo ug ug unta magpadayon ang inyong pag serbisyo aron makabalo pa ang uban.”

This activity was initiated in support to the MSME Month Celebration.

The Department of Trade and Industry – Surigao del Sur through Negosyo Center Barobo, distributed livelihood kits worth 8,000.00 each to 17 qualified MSMEs of Barangay Javier, Barobo, and Ban-as, Lianga, Surigao del Sur on 24 June 2022. The distribution is part of the implementation of Livelihood Seeding Program-Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay.

The event was graced by Hon. Benigno M. Diorico, Jr. of Javier, Barobo and Hon. Rema D. Cabag of Ban-as, Lianga who expressed their gratitude to the government and DTI-SdS for helping the MSMEs in their barangay. Mrs. Mercedita M. Cabusas, one of the beneficiaries of Barangay Javier, Barobo said, “Grabe amo pagpasalamat sa taga DTI na isa mi sa natagaan ug livelihood kits, tungod niini, madungagan gayud among pag pang negosyo ug palambuon gayud namo kini.”

The beneficiaries signed the Pledge of Commitment to use livelihood kits to restore, recover, and improve their businesses.

DTI Surigao del Sur, through Negosyo Center Barobo launched the Livelihood Seeding Program-NegosyoSerbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) in Barangay Ban-as, Lianga, Surigao del Sur on 31 May 2022.

Barangay Secretary Jogene Ybasan gave her opening message and expressed her support and appreciation to DTI for this initiative. In line with said activity, Senior Business Counselor April Joy R. Sipares, conducted Entrepreneurial Awareness Seminar and presented DTI programs and services to 61 participants present during the launching.

LSP-NSB is a DTI program which aims to maximize the potential of barangays to become economically independent and make them more effective partners in the attainment of national goals to generate income and more jobs.

DTI Surigao del Sur, through Negosyo Center Barobo, launched the Livelihood Seeding Program-Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay in Barangay Javier, Barobo, Surigao del Sur on 23 May 2022 where 57 potential and existing entrepreneurs were present. Hon. Jovie O. Gupana officially opened the program and expressed his appreciation to DTI for this initiative. TIDA Cresal Grace C. Malabanan presented DTI programs and services and conducted Entrepreneurial Awareness Seminar to the participants.

DTI Surigao del Sur, through NC Barobo, conducted Business Continuity Plan Awareness Seminar to 15 resort, restaurant and sari-sari store owners in Barangay Payasan, Lianga, Surigao del Sur on 22 April 2022. Said seminar aimed to educate business owners on the importance of having business continuity plan as a measure to continue business operations amidst global pandemic or disasters.

Participants were grateful to DTI for this activity. Mr. Gerfen L. Moreno commented, “Mas naka dugang pasabot sa amoa bahin kung unsaon pag manage sa negosyo hilabi na gyud sa pag pangandam sa wa damha na mga kalamidad.”
