JO3 Ariel S Barcelona, Unit Paralegal Officer, conducted a lecture on the โ€œModes of Releaseโ€ of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) and the Good Conduct Time Allowance (GCTA) for Criminology Interns from Northern Iloilo State University (NISU) โ€“ Sara Campus.

The activity provided the interns with valuable knowledge on correctional laws, legal processes, and the rights and privileges accorded to PDL, enhancing their understanding of the criminal justice system.

๐“ ๐‡ ๐„ ๐ ๐Ž ๐‘ ๐“ ๐‡ ๐ ๐„ ๐– ๐’ || JO1 Rey Mark N Ceriaco, Unit Helpdesk, successfully facilitated the Coordination and Aftercare Referral of a released Person Deprived of Liberty (PDL) to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.

This initiative aims to assist the released PDL in accessing employment opportunities, livelihood assistance, and other support services essential for successful reintegration into the community.

Through collaborative efforts with partner agencies, BVDJ continues to promote rehabilitation and provide meaningful opportunities for former PDLs to rebuild their lives as productive members of society.

This immersion forms part of their academic requirements and provides them with valuable exposure to the operations, programs, and services of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.

Through this experience, the trainees will gain practical knowledge, develop professional skills, and deepen their understanding of public service and Jail administration.
