Ang pagsusunog ng basura, dahon, at iba pang waste ay ipinagbabawal ng batas. Bukod sa maaaring humantong sa multa at pagkakakulong, ang open burning ay nagdudulot ng polusyon sa hangin, panganib sa kalusugan, at posibilidad ng pagkalat ng sunog.

On September 3, 2026, at 8:00 A.M., BMJ participated in the National Simultaneous School Safety Drill for Active Attack Incidents held at Basey II Central Elementary School, Brgy. Palaypay, Basey, Samar.
Representing Basey Municipal Jail was Acting Jail Warden, SJO4 Alvin M Alve, who joined fellow stakeholders in strengthening coordination, awareness, and emergency response capabilities.

The activity serves as a reminder that preparedness is a shared responsibility. Through active participation and strong community partnerships, we can help create safer schools and more resilient communities.

As a Jail Officer, he believes that being approachable and understanding helps build trust, prevent conflicts, and create a positive environment for the rehabilitation of PDL, without compromising the security, discipline and order of the jail.

BJMP REGION VIII REAFFIRMS ZERO-TOLERANCE POLICY ON ILLEGAL DRUGS AND MISCONDUCT

The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Regional Office VIII, under the leadership of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director, strongly reaffirms its commitment to integrity, discipline, accountability, and the rule of law following the recent arrest of a personnel assigned at the Ormoc City Jail – Male Dormitory, who was allegedly found in possession of a self-sealed plastic sachet containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine hydrochloride, or “shabu,” weighing approximately 2.34 grams.

The suspected illegal drugs were recovered during the incident, and the matter is now subject to the appropriate legal and administrative processes.

The BJMP Regional Office VIII emphasizes that there is no room for illegal drugs or any unlawful activity within its ranks. Any personnel found to have violated the law or existing rules and regulations shall be held accountable, regardless of rank or position.

“We will not tolerate any act that compromises the integrity of the Bureau. Our personnel are expected to uphold the law, not violate it. Those found responsible shall face the appropriate legal and administrative consequences.”

The BJMP Regional Office VIII assures the public that the incident will not be tolerated or concealed and that all necessary actions will be undertaken in accordance with law, with full respect for due process and a fair, impartial investigation.

Ang Ormoc City Jail – Male Dormitory nagpahibalo sa publiko mahitungod sa bag-ohay nga pag-aresto sa usa ka personnel sa maong pasilidad, nga giingong nasakpan nga adunay dala nga usa ka self-sealed nga plastic sachet nga adunay puti ug kristal nga substansiya, nga gituohang Methamphetamine Hydrochloride, o mas nailhan nga “shabu,” nga adunay gibug-aton nga 2.34 gramos.

Ang gituohang ilegal nga droga narekober atol sa insidente, ug ang maong kaso karon anaa na sa hustong legal ug administratibong proseso.

Ang Ormoc City Jail – Male Dormitory nagpasalig sa publiko nga kini nga insidente dili pasagdan o tagoan, ug ang tanang gikinahanglan nga aksyon pagabuhaton subay sa mga naglungtad nga balaod, lagda, ug regulasyon. Ang pasilidad magpabiling matinud-anon sa pagmintinar sa usa ka propesyonal, disiplinado, ug walay droga nga palibot.

Dugang pa, ang Ormoc City Jail – Male Dormitory nagpasalig sa publiko nga magpadayon kini sa hingpit nga pakigtambayayong sa mga hustong awtoridad aron masiguro ang usa ka masusi, walay pagpihig, ug uyon sa balaod nga imbestigasyon.
