Representatives from across Region IX gathered at Manuel's Resort in Piรฑan, Zamboanga del Norte, on August 26โ€“27, 2026, for the Regional Adopt-a-School Training Program cm PTA Partners Forum, which concluded with the election and induction of key regional leaders.

During the regional elections representing nine school divisions, Isabela City FPTA President Ustadz Alzad T. Sattar was elected as the Secretary of the Regional Federation of Parents-Teachers Associations (FPTA). Education Support Services Division (ESSD) Chief Sheila Rose Apiag formally inducted Sattar into office immediately following the voting.

In a concurrent election held for the DepEd Zamboanga Peninsula Association of Partnership Focal Persons, Mr. Shaidomar B. Francisco was also elected as Regional Secretary. Francisco serves as the Senior Education Program Specialist (SEPS) for Social Mobilization and Networking.

The two-day regional initiative brought together education officials, focal persons, and community stakeholders to strengthen multi-sectoral partnerships, streamline parental engagement, and expand support for schools across the Zamboanga Peninsula under the Department of Education's Adopt-a-School Program.

The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Isabela City highlighted academic excellence and welcomed newly hired personnel during its Flag Raising Ceremony today, August 24, 2026.

A major highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of the winners of the 1st Basilan Historical Quiz Bee and the 1st Debate Cup, honoring learners who demonstrated knowledge, critical thinking, and communication skills in their respective competitions.

The recognition formed part of the Divisionโ€™s continuing efforts to acknowledge the achievements of learners and encourage participation in academic activities that develop their skills and appreciation of history and civic discourse.

Following the recognition, the newly hired employees of the Schools Division Office formally took their oath of office, marking the beginning of their service in the Department of Education.

The ceremony also featured SDO employees wearing Tausug-inspired outfits, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the community. The activity reflected the Divisionโ€™s continuing promotion and appreciation of Indigenous Peoplesโ€™ culture and traditions.

Through the activities, the SDO Isabela City underscored its commitment to recognizing excellence, welcoming new members of the workforce, and promoting cultural appreciation within the education sector.
