The House Committee on Trade and Industry deliberated and hereby approved HB No. 1721, entitled "An Act Encouraging and Institutionalizing Corporate Social Responsibility, Providing Incentives Therefor, and For Other Purposes," principally authored by Cong AMB, in its Technical and Working Group (TWG) meeting yesterday, June 1.
By legislating the institutionalization of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), "all business organizations are encouraged to highly consider the community's interest" through initiatives such as, but not limited to, "adoption of sustainable business practices, promotion of social development and community welfare, and the initiation and integration of other programs, projects, and services for the benefit of the community... in compliance with local and international laws and regulations."
